The future labour m arket T here are m a n y signs in d ic a tin g th a t th e la b o u r m a r k e t is d e ve lo p in g rapidly. T ech n olo gica l d e v e lo p m e n ts m ea n increasing d ig itis a tio n a n d in te rn a tio n a lis a tio n o f th e w a y w e w o rk a n d o f th e Danish la b o u r m a r k e t as a whole. The n u m b e r o f jo b fu n c tio n s t h a t can be a u to m a te d is a c c e le ra tin g , a n d this a u to m a tiz a tio n is likely to im p a c t unevenly across industries. D eve lop m en ts will create n ew jo b typ es, w hile o th e r jo b fu n ctio n s will disa p pe ar. The w a y t h a t la b o u r is o rg a n is e c will also change. W e are a lre a d y seeing new a n d looser e m p lo y m e n t form s, w ith m o re fr e q u e n t jo b changes. This d e v e lo p m e n t holds a n u m b e r o f new o p p o rtu n itie s . A t jo b centres a n d u n e m p lo y m e n t insurance funds, increased d ig itis a tio n m eans t h a t u n e m p lo ye d p e o p le close to th e la b o u r m a r k e t can incre asin gly help them selves. This d e v e lo p m e n t will fr e e - u p resources th a t can be used to build re la tio n s w ith citizens fu rth e s t a w a y f r o m th e la b o u r m a rk e t. Research in d ic a te s th a t a tru s tin g re la tio n s h ip can be essential t o move citizens closer to e m p lo y m e n t. These new o p p o rtu n itie s also com e w ith new challenges. The te c h n o lo g ic a l d e ve lo p m e n ts require skills u p g ra d in g a n d increase th e need fo r cro s s-d is cip lin a ry skills u p g ra d e s a n d tra in in g . N e w e m p lo y m e n t fo rm s a n d w ays to o rg a n ise la b o u r w ill c h allen g e th e Danish co lle ctive- a g re e m e n ts m o d e l a n d th e w a y th a t w e re g u la te and legislate.
