Our community is one of a handful applying for DEP permits to clean up our waterways of debris and shoals. Our goal is to keep the water flowing down to Newark Bay. The Recreation Department continues to offer programs and activities throughout the year for all ages that include a Senior Picnic, Santa Breakfast, Recreation Egg Hunt, and Summer Day Camp. Pompton Day continues to grow with a street festival and additional events ending with a spectacular fire work display. Other notable events include the Town Wide Garage Sale, Summer Concerts, Veterans Day Parade, Annual Car Show, and Holiday Stroll along with the Veteran and 9/11 observances. The Library recently expanded programs to include house tours through “Friends of the Library.” As I conclude, I would like to thank all the residents, our volunteer first responders as well as our Front Row Left to Right: many sports programs, scouting programs, religious and various organizations, and the multitude of Councilwoman Jennifer Polidori Council President Terri Reicher municipal volunteers and employees who make Pompton Lakes a great place to live and work.
