HARMONISE FESTIVAL
                                                                   Celebrate Harmony Week at the City of Belmont’s Harmonise Cultural
                                                                   Festival on Saturday 16 March 2019 from 4pm - 8pm at Tomato Lake,
                                                                   Oats Street, Kewdale.
                                                                   Harmony Week runs from 15 to 21 March every year and encourages
                                                                   everyone to experience, explore and appreciate the City’s cultural, religious,
                                                                   linguistic and ethnic diversity.
                                                                   Get together for a free family outdoor festival to acknowledge and
                                                                   celebrate our cultural diversity.
                                                                   There will be free entertainment and activities including:
                                                                   • Culturally diverse entertainment;
                                                                   • World Harmony Walk;
                                                                   • Fun kids games, rides and lots more.
                                                                   Food and refreshments will be available for purchase.

Garvey Park at Fauntleroy Avenue, Ascot, turns into a fantasy land of fun at the annual
City of Belmont’s Kidz Fest on Saturday, 16 February from 11am to 5pm.
Enjoy a spectacular afternoon for the kids with a line-up of live entertainment, workshops,
games, rides and much more!
Explore the entertainment and activities in Funland, Adventureland, Tomorrowland,
Foodland, Toddler Town and Sportsland.
For children up to 14 years of age. All activities, attractions and parking are FREE!
Bring your picnic rug and settle down in beautiful Garvey Park by the Swan River.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase on the day.
Kidz Fest is another free event proudly brought to you by the City of Belmont -
the City of Opportunity and supported by Lotterywest and our media sponsor Nova.

COMMUNITY CENTRE CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
The City’s builder PACT Construction continues to make good progress on
the new Community Centre building. Dewatering of the site is now complete.
Current work includes laying the topping slab to the first floor and work has
begun on forming the structure for the second floor.
The finished building will be a contemporary and much needed hub for our
community, with facilities such as:
• Larger and enhanced Library            • Crèche
• Digital Hub                            • Senior Citizens Club
• Recording Studio                       • Office for Not-for-Profit organisations
• Larger and upgraded Museum             • Café.
It is anticipated construction of the building will take approximately
2 years, followed by fitout and occupancy by 2020. Should you have any

BELMONT MEMORY CAFÉ
The Belmont Memory Café is a regular monthly meet up in a friendly venue where
people living with dementia, their friends, family members and carers can share a coffee,
cake, laughter and a chat.
Café Tavolo (located in the Reading Cinema Complex) provides the venue for the
Belmont Memory Café which is held the first Wednesday of each month at 10:30am. If

CountUSin is a unique 10 week health initiative brought to you by
the City of Belmont.
The program aims to get your health and wellbeing on track and
includes a full access, three month gym membership and weekly
group exercise sessions coordinated and run by qualified exercise
specialists who will be your mentors throughout the program.
CountUSin also includes fortnightly cooking and nutrition education
classes run by FoodBank WA.
Eligible participants can join the program for the LOW COST of
$11.10 per week. The next round starts April 2019.

The Kidz Fest Junior Sports Expo is the City’s biggest opportunity for kids
to discover fun ways to keep active, try new winter sports and meet the
local sporting clubs. This year the Expo will be held at Garvey Park on
Saturday, 16 February 2019 from 11am to 5pm.
For those attending who would like to enrol in a winter sport and are
eligible for KidSport, the Community Wellbeing team will be there to help.
Please note that a health care card or pension card is required for KidSport.
