Award for the Carnic Alps geopark
The Moving Ideas for Carinthia competition was initiated by Land Kärnten and the Alpen-Adria-
Universität Klagenfurt.
The geopark aims to be accessible to partially sighted visitors with its „Move Thoughtfully’“ project.
In this way, various rocks along a Kneipp path make geological history tangibly understandable,
for example. Tactile ground markers, new media, etc. are utilised. What is actually available was
devised by the Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt.

Therapeutic horseback rides with Reit-Eldorado
Horseback rides are good not only for physical and spiritual rehabilitation, but also social
mingling. Riding enables good physical training, such as strengthening the muscles and improving
elasticity and suppleness, and promotes stress relief, building new social contacts and a gentle
getting out of isolation. Wheelchair users also gain ‘four fit legs’ on which they can move about
freely.
Target groups:
All visitors with physical, learning and sensory impairments who are able to sit on a horse and
control it without assistance.
