About BAMM Art Fair In 2019 BAMM launched a new annual fundraising event that aimed to encourage, support and promote the work of local artists. Returning in 2021, the BAMM Art Fair features an themed open Group Exhibition and six Micro Exhibitions. BAMM Art Fair opens with a weekend of family fun includng, the outdoor Arts and Crafts Market Day with stalls, kids art activities and live artist demonstrations. BAMM Art Fair: Group Exhibition Not quite ready for your own solo exhibition but eager to sell your artwork in a professional gallery environment? Looking to expand your audience and engage with Moree’s creative community? Well, our Group Exhibition is for you! BAMM is calling for entries from artists living anywhere in Australia. Our open Group Exhibition asks artists to submit recent works responding to the exhibition theme: The Painted River Artworks can be made in any medium; must be accompanied by a signed entry form and must meet ALL terms and conditions of entry. We encourage artists to creatively interpret the theme, with reference to water-based landscapes. Key Information: • Any medium • Maximum one entry per artist • $10 entry fee • All works must be accompanied by an artist statement responding to the theme (25 words or less) • All works must be available and priced for sale. BAMM Art Fair: Group Exhibition TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY AND SALE: BAMM Art Fair is a fundraising event with all proceeds directly contributing to the ongoing operation of BAMM. BAMM Staff are available to assist artists to fulfill the conditions of entry. In submitting an Entry, the Artist contracts with Bank Art Museum Moree [hereafter referred to as BAMM] and acknowledges acceptance of the following conditions of entry: 1.0 Entry Terms: • All entries must be an original work completed by the Artist no earlier than 1 January 2020. • All works submitted will be for sale onsite and online, through www.bamm.org.au, unless otherwise agreed in writing by BAMM. • The Artist will fix the sale price on the entry form (NB prices include GST and 25% commission.) • All entries are submitted at the total risk of the Artist. The Artist indemnifies BAMM against any claim, loss or damage of whatever nature or cause how so ever occurring and whether directly or indirectly relating to entered works or their delivery/transport or description. • The Artist appoints BAMM as his or her agent for the purposes associated with exhibition and sale and grants a license to BAMM to reproduce any work submitted for the purpose of but not limited to publicity, promoting this or future BAMM exhibitions, events and education purposes. 2.0 Restrictions on Works Being Entered: • Artists may submit one original work, created no earlier that 1 January 2020. • The artist warrants that all entries submitted are his or her original uncopied work. • Entries must NOT exceed 2 meters x 2 meters. • Works may be completed in any artistic media but should be ready to display as per the instructions below: 1. All works should be ready to display. 2D artworks will be displayed by hanging on walls. 3D artworks will be displayed on open plinths (no lockable cabinets are available). 2. All submitted 2D artworks should be ready to hang/display with two flush D rings for wire to be attached. Works not meeting these criteria will NOT be hung and any fees will NOT be refunded. 3. Artworks made of multiple pieces are accepted as one work but must not exceed the size limit as a whole. 3.0 Submission Process • All entries must be delivered to BAMM, 25 Frome St, Moree NSW 2400, no later than 1pm Saturday 5 June 2021. • If an artwork is packaged (ie in bubble wrap) BAMM will not guarantee the storage or return of any packaging. Entrants are responsible for packaging their own artworks on collection. • An entry fee of $10 (including GST) is compulsory for each work submitted. Entry fees must be paid at the time of entry and are not refundable under any circumstances even if the work[s] are not received by BAMM. • Each artwork and component there off must be clearly labeled with the artists name, title of the work, date and sale price. • Each entry to the Group Exhibition must be accompanied by a 25 word (or less) artist statement responding to the exhibition theme: The Painted River • Each entry must be accompanied by a signed entry form including financial information to enable payment to be made to the Artist for any paintings sold during the Exhibition. • BAMM reserves the right to refuse entries and withdraw any work from display at any time during the Exhibition. 4.0 Commission and GST: • BAMM is authorised to offer any entry for sale to the public at the price [inclusive of GST, if any] endorsed on the entry form and to retain 25% of sales as a selling commission. The commission includes GST. • GST has been included in all fees and charges. Artists must complete the GST Section of the Entry Form and provide all relevant information. • Artists are liable for all or any GST on entry and competition fees; charges for handling or return of paintings and on painting sales [where applicable].
5.0 Insurance: • BAMM, it’s staff, volunteers or agents will exercise all reasonable care in handling the works submitted, but will not be responsible for the loss or any damage to any works while in the custody of BAMM or BAMM’s agents. • Artists are responsible for insuring their works against loss or damage whether in custody of BAMM or in transit. 9.0 Collection: • Unsold artworks must be collected by Artists, their agents or proxies from BAMM, 25 Frome St Moree NSW 2400, on Sunday 29 August between 10am-1pm. • If an Artist fails to collect his or her unsold work[s] at the designated time, they will be stored for a period of 14 days at the cost of $20 per painting payable by the artist, after that BAMM may sell or otherwise dispose of the work[s] if not collected. Any variation to this must be agreed in writing between BAMM and the Artist. • BAMM will not guarantee the return of any packaging. Entrants are responsible for packaging their artworks on collection. 10.0 Entries received by Post/Courier/Freight • Entries must be delivered free of all charges etc. and free of all packaging except for a minimum of bubble wrap. • No payments whatsoever will be made by BAMM for freight or other charges incurred in delivery or return of entries. Entries which breach this condition will be rejected. • BAMM cannot guarantee that entries will be returned with their original packaging. 11.0 Payments to Artists: If the Artist has provided accurate bank details, BAMM will pay by electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the Artist the sale proceeds less 25% commission [inclusive of GST] within twenty-four [24] business days of the close of the art show [i.e. by the close of business Thursday 30 Sept 2021]. 12.0 General These Terms and Conditions cannot be varied unless agreed in writing by BAMM. BAMM Art Fair: Micro Exhibitions Are you living in Regional NSW and looking to develop your own exhibition? BAMM Art Fair’s Micro Exhibitions offer five regional artists or artist group the chance to display a number of artworks in their own dedicated gallery space. Each successful applicant will be assigned one of five gallery rooms in the BAMM building and BAMM staff will provide professional direction and support in curating and hanging artworks. Artists must submit the attached BAMM Art Fair Micro Exhibition Proposal for review by BAMM’s Exhibition Committee (the Committee includes members of the BAMM staff and Board). The selection panel will assess proposals on the following criteria: • Cohesive exhibition content and rationale • Aesthetic value and understanding • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively • Exhibited works must have been created in the past two years (no earlier then July 2019) • All works submitted will be for sale, unless otherwise agreed in writing by BAMM • The Artist will fix the sale price on the entry form (NB prices include GST and 25% commission). Please remember that to be considered you must submit all relevant information and supporting documentation by the due date: Wednesday 25 April 2021. Exhibition size: Minimum 11 running metres Maximum 16 running metres Exhibition proposals must include the following material: • A completed BAMM Art Fair Micro-Exhibition Application form • Proof of residence within regional NSW (eg: copy of your driver’s licence or utility bill) • Due to the short lead time, applications must include 4 high quality images of works to be included in the proposed exhibition • Digital images are preferred and must be clearly identified with the artist’s name, medium, dimensions in centimeters (height x width x depth) and an indication of correct orientation • Poor quality images will seriously hinder the evaluation of your work. • Curriculum Vitae (not more than 1 page) • Relevant support material if available eg: catalogues, installation images from previous exhibitions, images of recent work • All artists will be automatically registered on BAMM’s Artist Database. Proposals must meet the following criteria: • Applicant/s are residents of regional NSW • In the case of a group show, at least half the applicants must satisfy the residential requirement. The Exhibitions Committee will consider all applications received by the due date. The decision of the Exhibitions Committee is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Applicants will be advised of the outcome of their proposal in writing (email). Proposal materials will be returned to unsuccessful applicants upon request and otherwise retained for inclusion on BAMM’s Artist Database. Successful applicants will be assigned a gallery space by BAMM staff. Successful applicants will be required to complete an exhibition agreement consenting to the terms and conditions of BAMM Art Fair, including BAMM’s 25% commission on all works sold. BAMM Art Fair: Market Stall Application Time and Date: 9am to 1pm, Saturday 26 June 2021 The opening weekend of the BAMM Art Fair will feature an Arts and Crafts Market in the BAMM Garden. The market day will include live artist demonstrations, music, kids activities and a sausage sizzle. Participation in the BAMM Art Fair Market is limited to 8 stall holders who must meet the following terms and conditions. Please read these carefully; • Public Liability Insurance: All stallholders must have public liability insurance ($10 Million minimum). • Products: Please make sure that the description on your application is accurate and covers all works intended for sale. Product descriptions must cover the full range of works intended for sale. You cannot add products to your range or new members to a stall without the written consent of BAMM. To add a signifi- cantly different product to your stall a written request along with photos is re- quired to be submitted to ktuart@bamm.org.au. This is to maintain the balance of products available and protect the unique quality of products sold. • Environment and waste: To reduce waste, stallholders are asked to minimise the amount of plastic packaging used in the stall. Please use recycled and/or recyclable packaging and materials (where appropriate) or consider environ- mentally friendly alternatives. Stallholders are expected to clean up after them- selves and ensure their site is left in good condition. Stallholders are required to remove all waste at the end of the day. • Site: Each site is 3x3m. Marquees will be provided and successful applicants will be assigned a site in advance based on a first in first served basis. Stall locations are non-negotiable. All stall equipment including tables, chairs and signage must be contained within the boundaries of your site, leaving pub- lic access clear at all times. Safety is your responsibility. You must provide your own tables, chair(s), signage and display furniture (ie Mirrors). • Stalls: cannot be sublet or shared without written approval from BAMM. Appli- cations for shared stalls must list names and contact details for ALL applicants. • Fees: $30.00 per stall, to be collected by BAMM staff on notification of suc- cessful application. Fees are not refundable. • Wet Weather: In the event of wet weather making the event impossible to run, BAMM will reschedule the Market Day to Saturday 3 July 2021 (no refunds will be issued for stall holders unable to attend on that date). • Image Use Consent: I give permission for photographs of the stallholder/s, the products and stall to be used by BAMM in any promotional, marketing or media material for the purpose of but not limited to publicity, promoting this or future BAMM exhibitions, events, education purposes etc. • Copyright: Stall holders must respect all copyright and intellectual property rights as outlined by Australian law and the Australian Copyright Council.
