Being able to hold the alleged offender accountable for these crimes is a great outcome for the Central Business District and our community overall. Remember when burglars are scoping out sites and businesses they are often looking for opportunities, windows left open, keys left out, places they can stay hidden and out of sight while committing crime, as well as weaknesses in traditional security equipment. Alarm systems and monitored CCTV systems are still great target hardening strategies. As a home or business owner it is your responsibility to maintain your security to the appropriate level and to add enough protection that the risk of breaking into your business exceeds the reward for the burglar. 2
