“When one sibling starts something, we all get involved,”
quipped Park. “We did a community launch, started taking
in donations and building a volunteer base. Within six
weeks, we were delivering hand-crafted beds to children
who didn’t have one.”
As a proud sponsor of Sleep in Heavenly Peace’s Utica
chapter, AmeriCU employees and volunteers were eager
to participate over a two-week period in October,
assembling beds for children in the greater-Utica area,
Rome, and the Mohawk Valley. As part of the sponsorship,
the credit union also supplies the mattresses needed for
the beds made.
Since July, SHP has built and delivered 60 beds and hope to
deliver 40 more by year-end. While an impressive number,

Board of Election Update
AmeriCU’s Nominating Committee has announced that Ryan Kuhns and John Stevenson
have been nominated to fill two open positions on the Board of Directors. As there is only
one nominee for each position to be filled, the election will not be conducted by mail
ballot and there will be no nominations from the floor. The two nominees will be seated at
the Annual Meeting on Monday, March 14, 2022.
