A to Z of services 2018 240 Project The 240 Project is an arts and health activity centre for people affected by homelessness, vulnerability and exclusion. The project runs a wide range of creative arts groups and health-improving activities. A to Z of services 2018 Catholic Children’s Society The Catholic Children’s Society (CCS) provides qualified and experienced counsellors to deliver one-to-one and/or group sessions for pupils at the following schools: • St Charles primary school • St Francis of Assisi primary school • St Mary’s primary school • Sion Manning Girls’ school CCS also delivers stay and play for children aged 0-5 and their parents at St Mark’s park. 11Operates from 12.30pm to 4pm, Monday to Friday. BB73 St Charles Square W10 6EJ >>020 8969 5305 ,,GregB@cathchild.org.uk Community Living Well – Mother Tongue Counselling Delivered by Wandsworth & Westminster Mind, Mother Tongue Service offers up to 12 free one-to-one counselling sessions in Arabic and Farsi languages to adults (18+) who are registered with a GP in Kensington and Chelsea, Queens Park or Paddington, for the management of mental health difficulties such as stress, anxiety, depression, symptoms of trauma and culturally sensitive bereavement support. A to Z of services 2018 Dadihiye Somali Development Organisation Drop-in service – Monday to Friday 10am to 1pm giving information on housing, benefits, education and other forms of support, as well as letter writing, telephoning and translating on behalf of clients. Befriending service – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – 10am to 1pm (we are flexible with timings). Sewing – Tuesday 10am to 3pm Supplementary classes – Friday 5.30pm to 7.30pm only during school terms. Trips and events during school holidays and some weekends (funding permitting). A to Z of services 2018 Early years Children’s centres are warm and friendly places and welcome resident families with a child under five. The main centres are open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Holmfield House Children’s Centre is also open once a month on a Saturday. At each centre you will find a team of friendly Engagement Officers who can talk you through the right services for you and your family. The centres provide access to counselling therapists to support children and their parents via our centres. Counsellors will be present at the centres listed below each week. A to Z of services 2018 Epic CIC Our services are aimed at children and young people from 6 up to the age of 19 and 25 for those with a lifelong learning difficulty and/or disability (LLDD). The programme will work with young people and get them to look at how they manage difficult feelings and situations of conflict, particularly in the aftermath of the Grenfell disaster. They will also learn techniques for communicating more skilfully in conflict situations and increase their understanding of how to build better relations within and between different communities and groups. Within the programme young people will develop their voice and agency by delivering social action projects and pass on their learning through the delivery of peer education sessions to other young people in the local community. A to Z of services 2018 Ethiopian Women’s Empowerment Group The Ethiopian Women’s Empowerment Group works with all BAMER women in need, regardless of their country of origin. A to Z of services 2018 Grenfell Muslim Response Unit The Grenfell Muslim Response Unit was set up by independent volunteers in response to the Grenfell Fire. The project, now hosted by the National Zakat Foundation, is supported by Islamic Relief, Muslim Aid and Aziz Foundation. The team provides 1-1 rep support for families from the tower and surrounding residents and provides a call in service at the Curve. Support provisions include assistance with funerals, bereavement, day to day mobility support, advocacy, respite, education and welfare access. The Grenfell Muslim Response Unit serves all those affected, regardless of race, religion or background. They provide drop-in counselling and support groups which are open to anyone who needs help. This includes practical and emotional support, including what parents can tell their children about the Grenfell Tower fire and coming to terms with the tragedy. Hestia’s Outreach team helps you access the support you need during the day through an individualised programme and access to groups and support at the Recovery Café. The service provides sessions with qualified counsellors, moderated peer-support and self-help articles. Counsellors from Hestia and Total Family Coaching are providing this service in hotels from 8pm to 3am daily. A to Z of services 2018 The Rugby Portobello Trust The Rugby Portobello Trust helps and supports local people by providing facilities, activities and guidance that promote a stable society in the W11 area. The Trust is delivering a number of specific projects in response to community needs following the Grenfell fire. These include a Magic Mums parenting programme; emotional wellbeing sessions; new homes services; grant giving; an adult football project and a community café. To ensure parents are able to maximise the benefits of the therapies, the Early Years’ Service is able to offer crèche places for children while parents attend these sessions. This service is referral only. Total Family Coaching Total Family Coaching is a team of highly-skilled family and parenting practitioners offering an intensive support package to reduce trauma and enhance the wellbeing of families. It’s a multi- lingual team (covering Arabic, Albanian, Punjabi, Urdu, Hindi and Serbo-Croat) which, via individual and group coaching sessions, is helping families to become more confident in supporting their child’s needs. Total Family Coaching also offers a Grief Recovery Programme to support parents with strategies in helping children deal with loss. 18
