[ Profile ] PROPERTY WEEKLY |7 TRACK RECORD EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST: Randall Kemp Principal Ray White Woollahra | Paddington SOLD: 7 HARKNESS STREET, WOOLLAHRA. Getting to know the movers and shakers of the real estate world. Going out on my own at 27 was, in hindsight, probably a little immature, but it was also one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It began as a moment of madness; it came with a lot of heartache, rejection and hard work, but it was all an incredible character-building journey that I am very grateful for. It has taken me a while, almost 10 years, to build the agency to where we are today – with a really strong and committed team, a great database, and a market share of listings in the Eastern Suburbs that we are really proud of. I am 38 this year, and my job today has grown beyond landing listings and selling some of the most beautiful homes in the area, but just as importantly, I have the opportunity to train and mentor young agents to achieve their own successes. I’ve come to realise that I really enjoy this part of my job – imparting the lessons I’ve learnt in my 20-year career and helping newcomers in the industry. Raising a young family in Woollahra, living and working in Woollahra, and having our friends and family in the area has given me invaluable insight into the lives and desires of my vendors and buyers – which not only helps with building rapport, but also in understanding what each client would be seeking in their different life stages. It really wasn’t until I had my own kids that I truly understood the urgency and desire for young families to upsize, and what features of a home were important when you have little ones running around the place. With many of SOLD: 76 MONCUR STREET, WOOLLAHRA. my friends going through the same life stages as myself, it has been such a privilege being the person who has sold them their first one-bedroom apartment in their 20s, then their second home as newlyweds, and now looking for that lovely three or four-bedroom home as their family continues to grow. I predict 2020 will end on a record high and the traditionally quiet month of January will actually be buzzing with activity in the real estate market. There was next to no stock in the Eastern Suburbs through the height of COVID-19, and it has only been in the past couple of weeks that vendors are finding the confidence to list their properties for sale again. There is a big backlog of buyers who have, probably during lockdown restrictions, realised the need for a new home with more space, and also vendors who are really motivated to sell now and begin their own search for their next home. Interest rates are at an all-time low, banks are still dishing out lending pre- approval at an all-time high, and I think things are really going to ramp up in the next three months. Randall Kemp, Ray White Woollahra | Paddington 0415 818 966, randall.kemp@raywhite.com Randall’s hot tip “Café Nino on Ocean Street in Woollahra serves up the most amazing crab spaghetti, and the best coffee in town has to be SOLD: 33 MONCUR STREET, WOOLLAHRA. from Flat White Café.”

Beyond the awe-inspiring mansions and sleek designer penthouses, what dawned on me is that from Australian sweethearts to Hollywood megastars, we all have to deal with that drinking glass absentmindedly left pooling water on a wooden table, scattered toys thrown all over the living room floor, and used-but-not-dirty clothes piled onto that armchair in the bedroom.
