Teachers’ Notes This therapy begins by revising pupils’ understanding of nouns. It moves on to explore what a proper noun is: a name used for an individual person, place, or organisation, spelled with an initial capital letter e.g. London, Mr.Jenkins, The Red Cross. The use of a capital letter for proper nouns is then modelled and exemplified. Finally, pupils have the opportunity to practise the skill.
What is a noun? Nouns are words which identify people, places or things. All of the words in red are The pencil rolled across the table. examples of nouns.
