Years ago, high school student MILES MORALES was bitten by a genetically altered spider and gained incredible arachnid-like abilities: the proportional speed, strength, and agility of a spider, adhesive fingers and toes, the power to direct a bioelectric charge like a sting, to camouflage himself to the point of invisibility, and to detect approaching danger using his precognitive “spider-sense.” He hid these abilities at first, until a hero inspired him to use them to try to make the world more just. HE IS... Miles has been going through it lately. Still grieving the loss of Uncle SALADIN AHMED WRITER Aaron and reeling from the recent symbiote invasion, he also lives CARMEN CARNERO ARTIST with the trauma inflicted on him by the ASSESSOR, the creepy A.I. that kidnapped and conducted painful experiments on him to test his DAVID CURIEL COLOR ARTIST abilities. Miles ultimately escaped, but the Assessor had harvested VC’S CORY PETIT LETTERER enough data to create a Miles clone. Spider-Man went toe-to-toe with the clone, but it proved unstable and deteriorated into bio-goo.
