ABOUT THE ACTING EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR OLLI AT UK
Lisa is the Assistant Vice President for Community Engagement. At UK, she develops, implements and
assesses significant community-based projects that create robust partnerships between the University
community (faculty, students and staff ) and local, state and regional constituencies. The responsibilities
within the University Community Engagement department include the AmeriCorps VISTA Program and
the Office of Lifelong Learning.

Lisa is a former Councilwoman for District 6 in Lexington, Kentucky. She is also active in many state
and local activities. Currently, Lisa serves on the Bank of the Bluegrass & Trust Board, Co-Chair of the
Lexington Black Prosperity Initiative, Chair of the Carnegie Center for Literacy Board and serves on
the Town Branch Project (Town Branch Partner). She is also a partner of the Service-Learning and Civic
Engagement Consortium at the University of Kentucky which provides training, access and opportunities
for faculty and their classes regarding community projects.

Lisa was born in Harlan County, Kentucky and raised in Lexington. Lisa continued her education at the
University of Kentucky where she received her Bachelor’s and a Master's Degree. Lisa is a graduate of the
Center for Organizational and Technological Advancement’s Academy for Leaders at Virginia Tech. She is
also a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa, National Honor Leadership Society.

Visit www.uky.edu/olli/how-to for the online registration step-by-step guide. After reading the reg-
istration guide, go to the online registration site, uky.augusoft.net – Read through FAQs for import-
ant information. Online registrants will be able to view and print their confirmation information
immediately after registering. Receipts will automatically be emailed.

• Request to register does not guarantee enrollment.
• Instructors cannot override OLLI registration procedures. Please contact OLLI Office for assistance.

IF YOU ARE HAVING REGISTRATION ISSUES
1. Be sure if you have a new email address, contact teresa.hager@uky.edu. The email on your profile
   has to match your current email or you will not be able to log in.
2. When registering for classes, don’t stop in between adding to cart and paying. If you take too long,
   walk away from your computer, etc., you will get an error.
3. Do not wait on your computer earlier than classes opening or you may receive an error message.
4. If your billing address is different than your profile address, please add your billing address when
   paying.
5. When paying, enter straight numbers, no - or / when entering your credit card number. The same
   for your expiration date.
6. Please be sure to update your internet browser (Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer)

                                                                           Economics plays a central role in the functioning of every
                                                                           aspect of society. This course will address a set of prominent
                                                                           policy issues where economics is at their core. We will
                                                                           explore their origins as policy matters, the underlying data
                                                                           and evidence, and what policy levers are available to deal
                                                                           with them. Each lecture will be taught by a different subject
                                                                           matter expert.

This class will be a Vinyasa style yoga class connecting breath
to movement. Each class will begin with short breathing and
meditation exercises, moving into Sun Salutations. Each class
will include a practice of basic yoga postures and how to link
these with our breath to create a balance between the mind
and body. Many options will be offered for the postures so
all levels can participate. Each class will incorporate core
exercises for strength, stretching to increase flexibility, balance
work and relaxation postures for stress release.

REQUIRED MATERIALS: Yoga mat, strap and yoga block.

This short course offers an introduction to Russia. We will explore
how historical events impact Russian arts and literature, how
seasonal and holiday celebrations reflect cultural values, and even
look at some examples of Russian language. All that is required to

HOW IT WORKS:

      the back of the registration form and return it to
      OLLI prior to participation.
