Recommended Candidates Stacey Grant-Thompson I am honoured and excited to be recommended to serve as a member of the Board of Directors at Meridian Credit Union. I’m attracted to MCU for several reasons; the focus on digital transformation and the growth ambition are both closely aligned with my professional experience and interest. The most important attraction is Meridian’s purpose – helping you achieve your best life. For me, financial literacy is an essential skill and key enabler for people to live better. The potential for Meridian to fully deliver financial wellness to members through education, product features and member benefits could be a powerful differentiator and create significant positive impact in the community. I am a marketing and customer experience expert and have led the marketing function in multiple financial services organizations, most recently as Chief Marketing Officer at Manulife Canada. I have experience successfully building, scaling, and re-positioning brands at ING Direct, Rogers, Fido, Chatr and at Manulife. I integrate a strong understanding of business model levers with customer insights to build winning value propositions. I have extensive expertise in digital and direct marketing related to the optimization of end-to end marketing programs. I’ve also led multiple digital transformation initiatives related to marketing, sales, service, and operations. I have executive experience in a variety of roles in banking, insurance and telecom including as a strategy function lead as SVP Strategy at Manulife Canada and as a General Manager with P&L responsibility at both Manulife and Rogers. This range of executive roles and experience across industries has given me a multi-faceted perspective that pragmatically integrates strategic opportunity with operational execution and performance targets. I believe that education is a critical enabler for empowerment, employment, and advancement opportunities. Literacy is a foundational requirement for education. This interest led me to join the Board of ABC Life Literacy. At ABC, I chaired the Marketing & Communications Committee and the Governance and Nominating Committee. Currently, I’m on the Innovation & Impact Committee of Pathways to Education which is helping guide the digital transformation of the organization as it seeks to scale the number of high school students it supports to graduate from high school. Mentorship is also a critical component in personal development. I am a Mentor for early-stage companies in Rotman’s Creative Destruction Labs Artificial Intelligence stream and I continue to mentor several former teammates. I look forward to leveraging my interests and experience to actively contribute to the success of MCU through my Director position. 4

During this time I also sat on the boards of its subsidiaries which offered equipment financing, wealth management, insurance and trust services. First elected to the Meridian Board in 2019, I am currently the Chair of the Risk Committee and have also served on the Governance Committee and the Audit and Finance Committee.
