2022 Speakers Emcee Rich Bratten has been an endorsed partner with CBA for over 10 years. Chances Rich are you have met and seen Rich around Kansas or at a CBA event. Rich has many Bratten talents and has agreed to partner with CBA again by agreeing to emcee at this year’s convention. Boosting Team Adaptability and Resilience: Keys to Kim Effectively Connect, Engage, Motivate and Lead Others Becking During Change Motivation Speaker Connection is the heartbeat of life and leadership - especially during uncertain times. The reality is that connecting, motivating and leading others through change and uncertainty can be a challenge to say the least. Overwhelm, stress, burnout, too much to do, competing priorities, generational differences, regulatory changes, staffing shortages, stresses of home, work and everything in between. As a community banking leader, how you show up during this ever-changing world matters. How can you lead with heart – and be the good, see the good and share the good – so that you can attract, retain and create an All In- All Heart culture. In this engaging session, Kim will share keys to become an adaptable and resilient heart-led leader in an ever-changing world so that you can effectively connect, motivate, and boost the adaptability and resilience of yourself and those you lead. The CECL Countdown is On: Practical Steps to Get CECL Compliant Shawn O’Brien The Q1 2023 CECL compliance deadline is closing in! We’ve found that some banks are still working on adopting their standard, while other banks are already rethinking their approach. Regardless of where you stand, in this session, we’ll provide a check- list for a practical approach and roadmap to your transition. Topics we’ll discuss include proper methodologies, strategies other community banks are taking, imple- menting a parallel path, and the Federal Reserve’s SCALE tool. You’ll leave the session with practical steps you can take to make the transition as simple as possible, with less impact to your team. The New Investment Paradigm for 2022 Jim Community bank investment portfolios may seem to have changed little since the Great Recession, but that is a head fake. The actual securities that are available in Reber 2022 are quite a bit different than even five years ago, and community banks have had to adapt. Some have been dictated by issuer constraints, some by tax code changes, some by investor demand. We’ll analyze the “before and after” portfolio and will discuss the bonds that are popular with investment managers today. We’ll also comment on some strategies to maintain market values in a rising rate cycle. COMMUNITY BANKERS ASSOCIATION OF KANSAS
