WHO ARE WE? • We are a professional learning centre based at Kelvin Grove State College. • We work closely with QUT, Kelvin Grove State College teachers and partner schools to support and develop high potential preservice teachers (Prep – 12) to teach in high priority locations across Queensland. • We have three Streams (areas of focus) in the program: • Stream 1 - Working in regional, rural and remote schools (RRR) • Stream 2 - Working in Cape York Aboriginal Australian Academy (CYAA) in Far North Queensland • Stream 3 - Working in High Priority (HP) locations across the state (including South East Queensland) • Our key role is to de-stress you in your final year of study through support, networking and secured employment prior to graduation. kg_tece@kelvingrovesc.eq.edu.au
WHAT DO WE DO? • Teacher Mentorship & Classroom Experience - 2 week block at the start of the school year, then ongoing as negotiated • Weekly Masterclasses – 1 hour professional development workshops per week on Tuesdays (7:30-8:30am) • Final Professional Experience at a RRR, CYAAA or HP location - we work with you and Human Resources to find best fit • Secured Employment - at a Regional, Rural or Remote, Cape York Aboriginal Australian Academy of High Priority location kg_tece@kelvingrovesc.eq.edu.au
Mentorship - Danielle Immersion: Hands on experience in Weeks 1 &2 Three generations of mentors and mentees Ongoing teacher mentorship: Weeks 2-10 (Term 1) at Kelvin Grove State College KGTECE Director and HoM mentorship kg_tece@kelvingrovesc.eq.edu.au

Stream 2 - Cape York Aboriginal Australian Academies (CYAAA) Coen Hope Vale • Cape York Aboriginal Australian Academy (CYAAA) is a unique partnership between Good to Great Schools Australia and the Queensland Department of Education and Training. • Working with parents and community is essential to the CYAAA model. • We offer ‘full service schools’ that engage the community in a partnership context. kg_tece@kelvingrovesc.eq.edu.au

Stream 3 - High Priority and Low ICSEA schools In Stream 3, we work with high priority schools and Human Resource officers across the state, including the South East corner. High priority includes: • Low ICSEA Schools (Index of Community Socio-Educational Advantage). Providing an indication of the socio-educational backgrounds of students; it has nothing to do with the staff, school facilities or teaching programs at the school • Hard to fill locations Various geographical location corridors, enrolment growth areas, subject shortages kg_tece@kelvingrovesc.eq.edu.au
