2 Lagoon Drive Hawthorn Woods, IL 60047 (847) 438-5500 www.vhw.org FALL 2021 PARKS Thank you Rotary Club of Long Grove, Kildeer, and Hawthorn Woods! This past summer, the Rotary Club of Long Grove, Kildeer, and Hawthorn Woods presented the Village of Hawthorn Woods with a generous $1,000 donation towards our ongoing effort to expand our pollinator landscape as a proclaimed Monarch Butterfly Waystation. In addition, thirteen Rotary Club volunteers spent two days planting over 780 native pollinator and wildflower plugs between Brierwoods Preserve and Meadowlark Park and Arboretum in order to provide habitat, life cycle support, and nutrients for migrating butterflies, bees, and a variety of other insects. We thank the Rotary Club of Long Grove, Kildeer, and Hawthorn Woods for their heartfelt financial support and volunteer efforts! Seeking Community Volunteers The Village of Hawthorn Woods Parks & Recreation Department continually seeks individuals looking to give back and get involved in their community. We work with local Girl and Boy Scout groups, Eagle Scouts, community organizations and businesses to make our parks better and more beautiful.
