Dear Students and Parents, Welcome to another exhilarating year of classes at STAGES Performing Arts Academy! Our after-school, evening, and weekend programs are designed to offer students of all ages and abilities a performing arts curriculum that motivates growth, well-roundedness, compassion, and collaboration. If you want to explore your passion for musical theatre, focus on a specific skillset like acting, singing, or dancing, or learn a new performing arts discipline, we have a class for you here at the Kent Center for Theatre Arts! Despite the many challenges this past year presented, the Academy was able to continue to offer a variety of classes both virtually and in-person, and we are so excited to be bringing back some of your favorite sessions while adding some new ones for the 2021-2022 School Year. In addition to our Musical Theatre (MT), Acting (A), Dance (D), and Vocal (V) classes, we have made several adjustments to how we structure our offerings, and now provide: 1. Introductory Courses - These quarter-long classes are the perfect starting point for anyone who is brand new to musical theatre, singing, dancing, or acting, or for anyone needing a bit more experience before taking an upper-level course. We offer introductory classes in all available disciplines for all grade levels. 2. Open Enrollment Courses - No audition or experience is necessary to enroll in these exploratory, semester-long classes. These sessions take an even deeper dive into the performing arts than the introductory courses. 3. Leveled or Pre-Screened Courses - Beginning in 3rd Grade, we now offer various levels of difficulty for all musical theatre, singing, dancing, and acting classes. A majority of these semester or year-long classes require previous experience or an audition (in-person or through video submission) prior to being able to register for the course. Here at STAGES, we continuously strive to inspire curiosity, creativity, and passion through high quality instruction and performance opportunities. We understand you have many wonderful options when it comes to performing arts education here in St. Louis, and we thank you for your continued support of STAGES Performing Arts Academy and our phenomenal team of teaching artists and education staff! The timeless enchantment of a magical fairy tale is reborn with the Rodgers & Hammerstein hallmarks of originality, charm and elegance. Originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium. Its recreation in 1965 starring Lesley Ann Warren was no less successful in transporting a new generation to the miraculous kingdom of dreams-come-true, and so was a second remake in 1997, which starred Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as her Fairy Godmother. As adapted for the stage, with great warmth and more than a touch of hilarity, this romantic fairy tale still warms the hearts of children and adults alike. This Enchanted Edition is inspired by the 1997 teleplay. SPECIALITY PROGRAMS Private Lessons Receive individualized coaching in dancing, acting, or voice with a STAGES Teaching Artist.
