2020 CIA Symposium 10–15 September, 2020 FAIRMONT LE CHÂTEAU MONTEBELLO MONTEBELLO, CANADA 2018-2020 Dear Friends, COLLEGIUM COUNCIL On behalf of the Council, Bruce Bochner, and I welcome you to the 33rd Symposium of the Collegium Internationale Allergologi- President cum, entitled Allergic and Immune Diseases: Phenotyping, Prediction, Prevention and Participation, which will be held for Bruce S. Bochner the first time in Canada, in charming Montebello, Quebec, 10-15 September 2020. Past President From its inception in 1954, the Collegium has been a very special international group of friends pursuing research excellence Stephen T. Holgate across the full spectrum of allergic diseases and allied disorders, in a spirit of open intellectual exchange and debate at meetings held in interesting and stimulating locations across the world. We will be revisiting this vision, this time in historic Montebello, Vice President/Past strategically set along the Ottawa River, bordering the provinces of Ontario and Quebec. Secretary General Thomas Bieber Through oral and poster presentations, this Symposium will highlight the significant scientific progress being made by our disci- pline worldwide, including some of the latest advances in allergy, asthma and immunology. With the big data revolution upon us, Secretary General we will explore P4 Medicine paradigms, including deep phenotyping, predictive algorithms, preventive strategies and participatory Donata Vercelli imperatives, in understanding developmental origins of allergy, asthma and immune/inflammatory disorders. 2020 CIA Symposium 33rd Symposium of the Collegium The 33rd Symposium of the Collegium will be held in Montebello, Canada. Montebello is a municipality located in the Papineau Regional County Municipality of Western Quebec, Canada, roughly on hour drive from the Canadian capital of Ottawa. The village is world- famous for the Château Montebello hotel, the largest log structure ever built. The hotel was the host of the 1983 NATO Nuclear Planning Group, and the 1981 G7 Economic Summit. Currency The currency used in Canada is the Canadian Dollar (CAD). There are ATMs widely avail- able for cash withdrawal. Credit cards are also accepted at most hotels, restaurants and shops. Electricity The standard electrical voltage in Canada is 120 Volts and 60 Hertz. Language The official language of the 33rd Symposium is English. Networking Events Welcome Reception Thursday, 10 September 2020, 20:00 – 23:00 The Welcome Reception will be held at the Fairmont Le Château Montebello with refresh- ments and an assortment of hors d’oeuvres. Networking Trip and Networking Dinner Friday, 11 September 2020, 14:30 – 23:00 We will be holding a ticketed off-site networking event at the CIA Symposium. This op- portunity will allow you time to share scientific information and experiences with the other attendees. You will be able to sign up for this event in the registration process. Closing Dinner Monday, 14 September 2020 18:00 - 23:00 The Closing Dinner will be held at the Fairmont Le Château Montebello and will take place after the Poster Session that evening is finished, where we will induct the newest CIA Tipping members and honor the Travel Grant winners. Call for Abstracts Abstract Submission Guidelines Abstracts can be submitted in the Word Limit– 350 words following categories: The Collegium Internationale Allergologicum invites members and non-members to submit Category 1: Genomics, epigenomics and biomarkers of disease abstracts for review for poster or oral presentation at the 33rd Symposium in Montebello, Category 2: Allergy and Immune Disease Development & Prevention Canada. Category 3: Adaptive Cellular Immunity: lymphocytes, dendritic cells, Abstract Submission ends on 10 April, 2020. monocytes/macrophages and others Late Breaking Submission ends on 14 August, 2020. These sessions are geared towards young scientists at the beginning of their career.
