INTRODUCTION Our 14th season! It was back in 2006 when GT Sport and former sportscar driver Jesús Pareja launched the series. Since then, the International GT Open has enjoyed constant expansion and a growing success, thanks to stable rules, controlled costs, excellent TV coverage and premium venues. Today, the International GT Open has established itself as reference Pro-Am racing GT series in Europe.
WINTER TESTS 2019 PROVISIONAL CALENDAR Paul Ricard 22-23 February April 27 – 28 / PAUL RICARD (FR) Barcelona 8-9 March May 25 – 26 / – HOCKENHEIM (DE) June 22 – 23 / – SPA (BE) July 6 – 7 / HUNGARORING (HU) September 7 – 8 / SILVERSTONE (GB) September 21 - 22 / BARCELONA (ES) October 12 – 13 / MONZA (IT)
The 2019 season will include seven rounds, where the GT Open will share its event meetings with its THE EVENT sister single-seater series, the Euroformula Open and the GT Cup Open Europe as well as other top racing series. GT Cars will always be allocated in boxes. Format Friday • 2x60’ Free Practice sessions. • 1x40’ Free Practice session (Bronze drivers only) Saturday • 1x30’ Qualifying session (Driver 1) • Race 1: 70’ Sunday • 1x30’ Qualifying session (Driver 2) • Race 2: 60’
Drivers Status REGULATIONS Pro Pairs: • Pair of (or combination of) The International GT Open is based on GT3 cars, either: Silver/Gold/Platinum drivers • GT3 FIA homologated cars • Platinum/Platinum is forbidden. Pro-Am Pairs: Following titles are established: • Pair of 1 Bronze driver (mandatory) • Overall + 1 Silver/Gold/Platinum driver. • Pro-Am • Am AM Pairs: • Bronze drivers only. * There will be Podium ceremony for every class. Balance of Performance The technical Committee of the series elaborates and updates the BoP list to balance the performance of the cars.
PARTNERS will be the official tyre supplier of the International GT Open. Teams and drivers will benefit from Michelin’s high- tech products, top expertise and on-track service.
