FOREWORD Our announcement earlier this year that Rich Hill would be standing DEEP IMPACT’S brilliant Group One winning son SATONO ALADDIN could not have had been better timed. Japanese super sire Deep Impact has sired eight Group One winners in four countries over the past twelve months. The recent European classic victories by sons Saxon Warrior in the Gr. 1 Newmarket Two Thousand Guineas and Study of Man in the Gr. 1 French Derby confirmed his status as a global powerhouse. It is the continuation of Rich Hill’s successful relationship with Shadai Stallion Station and Mr Katsumi Yoshida that sees Japanese Group 1 winning miler SATONO ALADDIN shuttling to New Zealand. Rich Hill previously stood champion sire PENTIRE in conjunction with Shadai Stallion Station, and bred his Melbourne Cup winning son Prince of Penzance in partnership with Mr Yoshida. Both parties are confident that Satono Aladdin has the necessary sire attributes to continue the marvellous Group 1 results Pentire achieved during his twenty years at Rich Hill. The five young stallions RICH HILL will stand in 2018 offer breeders a great blend of proven race track performance, dominant sire lines, and athletic good looks. The arrival of the first New Zealand bred foals by our outstanding French Group 1 winning miler VADAMOS are eagerly awaited by many of our leading breeders. Vadamos, who is considered to be legendary German sire Monsun’s both ‘fastest’ and ‘best bred’ sire-son, proved to be New Zealand’s most popular first season sire in 2017. He received an exceptional book of 159 quality mares! The yearling sales debut by the progeny of brilliant Australian Group 1 performer PROISIR, as anticipated, went exceptionally well. His first-crop yearlings sold up to $NZ160,000 at Karaka. As this brochure goes to print we are getting excellent reports from breakers throughout Australasia about Proisir’s offspring, some of whom are strong possibilities to make their racetrack debuts later this year. SHOCKING continues to cement his position as one of New Zealand’s leading up-and-coming young sires. His very talented daughter Fanatic added the Sandown and Adelaide Cups to her stakes record this season, after winning the Gr. 1 New Zealand Oaks as a three-year-old. With Shocking’s biggest and best pedigreed books coming through to race over the next few years it is a great time to breed to him and capitalise on this support. JIMMY CHOUX’S own stud career continues to gather momentum. His second crop have made quite an impact with 17 individual three-year-old winners on both sides of the Tasman, including stakes winner Bostonian, and three other stakes performers. In addition, he has also sired winners this season in Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and Macau. We will continue to strive to offer our clients outstanding international sire prospects, priced to offer exciting value and opportunity. Here at Rich Hill we have an experienced and dedicated staff, combined with superb facilities to ensure your thoroughbreds are looked after in the best possible fashion. Please feel free to contact us or visit us at the farm if you wish to discuss any aspect of your bloodstock investment. John Thompson

SATONO ALADDIN Pedigree Nicks By Philip Jeffreys - CLOUGHMORE PEDIGREES I'm especially fond of the Turn-To x Turn-To cross. Thus all those mares with Toughness and soundness are qualities we SIR TRISTRAM influences somewhere or all aspire to instil into the thoroughbreds other are worth serious consideration. we breed, but many stallions nowadays Further strengthening my case is the fact have so few starts that it's hard to assess that Satono Aladdin is out of a Storm Cat whether they are likely to pass on these mare and Storm Cat x Sir Tristram has essential qualities. PROISIR Pedigree Nicks Proisir’s pedigree compliments many of Danehill-line mares and other branches of Australasia’s top sire lines. the Danzig male line. The success of Encosta de Lago crossed with Danehill-line SIR TRISTRAM'S affinity with mares reinforces this. REDOUTE'S Danehill-line horses is well established. He CHOICE, FLYING SPUR, DANSKE, crosses well with both Proisir's champion KEEPER, DANASINGA, VOLKSRAAD, sire Choisir and his broodmare sire BERTOLINI, CAPE CROSS etc all look well Encosta De Lago, each producing a high suited to Proisir. percentage of winners and stakes winners. Sir Tristram’s influence is widespread and Champion sire MR PROSPECTOR through mares carrying his influence through: ELUSIVE CITY, FUSAICHI PEGASUS, NO ZABEEL, KAAPSTAD, SAVABEEL, EXCUSE NEEDED, FALTAAT, BACHELOR GROSVENOR, DARCI BRAHMA, DON DUKE and WOODMAN etc will pick up EDUARDO etc are likely to be well mated nicely with his female line presence via with Proisir. Encosta De Lago. NIJINSKY has combined well with Choisir producing 16 stakes ZABEEL offers a line through Nureyev winners, so mares by GENEROUS, back to influential mare SPECIAL, this the HOWBADDOUWANTIT and ROYAL dam-line of Encosta De Lago's own sire ACADEMY should all suit. Fairy King. The duplication of this famous family through NUREYEV, SADLER'S O'REILLY is an attractive linebreeding WELLS, FAIRY KING etc is regarded as a option for Proisir. Danehill Dancer bred most successful formula for producing over an O'Reilly mare resulted in Gr.1 stakes performers. Mares that afford this Coolmore Stakes winner STEPS IN TIME, breeding opportunity with Proisir include and O'Reilly crossed with Danehill blood those by: ZABEEL, SAVABEEL, DARCI features in 25 individual stakes winners. BRAHMA, MONTJEU, HIGH Encosta De Lago has crossed well with CHAPARRAL, STRAVINSKY, SHINKO O'Reilly's sire LAST TYCOON, resulting in KING, CARNEGIE, RIP VAN WINKLE, 11 stakes winners which include four-time IFFRAAJ, THEWAYYOUARE etc. Group 1 winner ALINGHI. It is noteworthy that Choisir's own sire PINS mares appeal, they create a Danehill Dancer has had great success sex-balanced double of speed influence when bred to mares by Sadler's Wells and Lunchtime up close, together with his sire son's. linebreeding to Star Kingdom and Northern Dancer. RORY'S JESTER mares With DANEHILL appearing four also appeal, a high percentage of winners generations back in Proisir's foals, and and stakes winners coming from the DANZIG five, it is well worth trying Choisir x Rory’s Jester cross. "Geez this is a nice horse! Proisir’s such a relaxed customer and he has that turn of foot that only the good ones have." Hugh Bowman - Champion Jockey
