T   here’s a lot to see and do in and around Wakefield.
    Art features prominently here and sculpture too,
celebrating the works of two sculptural icons: Barbara
Hepworth and Henry Moore. The prize-winning Yorkshire

award. The city hosts a bi-monthly Artwalk with pop-up

Festivals play a big part in Wakefield including the famous
rhubarb festival. Long Division is an independent music
festival, whilst Seaside in the City combines street theatre
with an enormous sand pit. Wordfest celebrates the written
word; there’s truly a festival for all seasons.

And for fun packed days out the list of opportunities is
endless. Angler’s Country Park, Pugney’s Country Park,
RSPB Fairburn Ings, Newmillerdam’s gnome roam and

                             organises a fabulous Rhubarb Festival in February

                             cookery demonstrations, street performers, live

                             salmon curry with a rhubarb and coriander sauce
