In 1912 after a life at sea, Francesco Fabiano
saw an opportunity to follow his passion
for fine food and wine and opened a
small hostelry at ‘Castello 4357’ just off the
famous St Mark’s Square in Venice. During
the 1950’s, Francesco further developed
his interest in the wines of the region and
made the transition from wine trader to
wine producer and moved to a province
of Verona to build his own winery with the
help of his son Nicola. Now in the hands of
the fourth generation, Alessandro has continued the development of the company gaining
international recognition for the consistent high quality and value of his wines. Never losing sight
of the legacy his grandfather left him, today he pays homage by using an original photograph of his
wine bar on their Prosecco Castello 4357.

Botter was founded by Carlo Botter in 1928 as a small business selling local Veneto
wines in barrels and demijohns. It took its first major step forward with the arrival of
the second generation of the family. After the Second World War, brothers Arnaldo
and Enzo began selling wine in bottles. They boosted the company’s presence on the
Italian market and – most importantly – they began a constant process of expansion
in other countries, which would become the company’s main source of income.
Our final goal is to satisfy the customers, who are at the heart of everything that the
company does. Our product development is based on analysis of customer requirements
and market demand. Our network of select producers together with our team of dedicated
consultants and oenologists create the most fitting products of the very highest quality.ITALY

Nittardi, Tuscany
Nittardi is a boutique winery situated in
the heart of the Chianti Classico region,
with vineyards in Chianti Classico and
Maremma in southern Tuscany. The
property dates to the 16th century, when
it belonged to the Renaissance artist
Michelangelo Buonarroti, it was taken
over in 1981 by Frankfurt publisher and
art gallerist Peter Femfert and his wife,
who have restored Nittardi step-by-step.

The history of Manzanos wines dates back to
1890 when the first generation of the Fernández
de Manzanos family established a small winery
in Azagra in the heart of the Rioja appellation.
Through successive generations, the estate and
winery expanded and now rests in the capable
hands of the 5th generation, brothers Victor and
David, along with their young and dynamic team.
Azagra itself lies within the newly designated
‘Rioja del Reyno’ sub-region of Rioja which is to
the north of the region, protected by the Sierra de
Cantabria mountain range. Despite their youth,
the brothers are realising their vision to become
one of the most important quality producers
within the whole appellation and have invested
heavily in terms of vineyard and business
acquisition to help consolidate their position.
With access to nearly 1,000 hectares of mature
vineyards, 250 of which are owned, oenologist
and technical director Borja Ripa, with his youthful
flair, is fashioning fruit-forward, modern wines
from this classic region. One of the hidden jewels
within their own vineyards
are decent holdings of the
oldest Graciano vines in
the region and therefore
the world. This indigenous
variety is becoming more
fashionable, especially as a
single varietal expression
and is certainly worthy
of closer attention.

Goyenechea Winery was founded in 1868
by two brothers. These Spanish immigrants
purchased an estate and winery to the south
of the Mendoza Province. A few decades later,
between 1930 and 1940, the Goyenechea
family planted vines and developed the largest
vineyard in the world.

and Malbec. This is a great example of the

Take a “Village Walk”
through the range…
The Franschhoek Valley in the Western Cape of South
Africa is one of the country’s most astounding places
to visit. The Franschhoek Cellar’s “Village Walk”
range pays homage to the historical landmarks of the
village that help tell the story of this incredible place.
In the late 18th century French Huguenots, who
were facing persecution by the Catholic rulers in
France, were offered travel and land in the Cape
by the Dutch East India Company. In return, the
French settlers would use their expertise to establish
vineyards and make high quality wine to ship back
to Europe. As the outpost developed, it became
known as “Franschhoek”, which is Afrikaans for
French Corner. Over time the stories and landmarks
became established, from The Stonebridge to the
Baker Station to the Statue de Femme – one of
the most recent additions that pays tribute to the
women of the early settlement whose hard work
and determination helped establish the village.
In the 21st century, the village is renowned as the
capital of gastronomic excellence in South Africa and
is home to globally revered wine producers. It retains
a strong and proud French heritage, which is best
displayed with the annual Bastille Day festival. It is a
must-stop visit on any trip to South Africa, where you
can jump aboard the Franschhoek Wine Tram and
stop at numerous producers,
including Franschhoek
Cellar, for a tasting. In the

from Oregon. We are organic in our practices of vineyard
stewardship, and are low intervention in the cellar.
Our wines spend between 18-22 months in élevage
with minimal SO2, and no yeast or enzyme additions. We hope to
keep the wines taut, long living, and original to their provenance.
