   • Registration for the Winter 2019 session is December 16th at 9:00 AM through
January 7thth at 9:00PM. However, please note the sooner the better to

class may fill up. Registrations will be processed in the order in which they are
received. Beginning with class start dates.

   • If there is insufficient enrollment for a class, it will be cancelled and your fee
refunded. You will be notified via email of this change. PLEASE check your email
on a regular basis in the days prior to session start date for important class info
       and possible class cancelations.

contact Kelly Brisker at kbrisker@gmail.com if you have not received a
confirmation or if you have any questions or concerns. Class locations are TBD.
Within a few days after registration closes, you will receive an email with the
exact classrooms your child's class will take place in. Don't forget to check your
       email regularly.

   • Students must arrive promptly to class. Your child should know where to report
and if he/she is uncomfortable finding the classroom, please make arrangements
to escort him/her to the class location. During the first week, we will do our best
to send emails to students teachers to help with reminders on class days. Please
remind your child on his/her class day as to what their after-school plans are.

   • It is important for you to make arrangements for prompt pick-up of your child after
class. Due to the new safety guidelines that the distract has set in place please

                STEM-U – Coding with Ollie
STEM-U will teach kids block programming using Ollie. The Ollie is an app enabled
robot that we use to engage kids in programming!! The Ollie is controlled via a
simple drag and drop programming interface. Our philosophy is to use play to
engage kids in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) activities. In this
class, we provide students a variety of fun challenges and competitive activities that
must be accomplished by programming the robot. Kids are eager to make the robot
do various cool things that we can easily introduce the basics of programming like
functions, loops, conditional statements. By implementing various functions using
the drag and drop programming interface kids can immediately see the outcome.
This makes the abstract process of programming and engaging in computational
thinking very concrete for students, and provides visible as well as fun ways for
students to see the application of STEM. The class integrates math concepts,
engineering construction, and control of the robot’s sensors in its challenges.
The course content will appeal to girls as well as boys. The challenges and activities
are structured as beginner, intermediate, and advanced allowing us to work with
various grade and experience levels. Children will work in pairs to build sense of
teamwork, collaboration, and accomplishment. No previous programming
experience is necessary. If you know drag and drop programming already or have
taken a Coding with Sphero or Ollie class you can still join this class. Our activities
will be different and are not repeated up to 2 years. STEM-U provides all the
materials including the Ollie robots and tablets.
