WEEKLY SAFARI PROGRAM IN HOTEL ISOSYÖTE
Important to know:
Registering for the weekly program the day before by 16.00 (at the reception).
Prices include VAT.
Children under 12 years: 50 % reduction.
All snowmobile safaris include guide services,
driving instructions, insurances and fuel.
For snowmobile driving an insurance self liability
is valid of € 800 per accident.
All safaris include guide services, instructions and
thermo clothing unless otherwise mentioned.
The safaris do not require any previous
experience.
The mentioned durations are approximate times,
depending on weather- and track conditions and (driving) capability of the participants.
Guaranteed departures unless otherwise mentioned.
Monday
Snowmobile safari to wilderness at 14.00
The safari starts from the hotel where the snowmobiles are lined
up. The track goes first down hill, and then onwards along fells,
through the forest with heavy snow covered trees and over ice
covered swamps or lakes. We stop to make a coffee near the
campfire. After the break we start the snowmobiles again to drive
back up the Iso Syöte hill.
Included: Snowmobilesafari, hot drink
(coffee/ tea and buns) safari outfit

Overnight in a real Snow Igloo
On top of the Iso Syöte hill a real snow igloo is built. Experience an Arctic overnight.
Outside temperatures can drop down, but inside in the igloo it is just some minus
degrees. In a special sleepingbag you will stay warm and cosy, admiring the snow
igloo with beautyfull covered snowtrees around.
Included: One overnight in igloo, all sleeping equipment, breakfast, shower
and sauna at the hotel
Price: 80 € / person per night.
(Igloo overnight can only be reserved additional to regular stay at hotel/cottage).

Tuesday
Snowmobile safari & husky safari 6 km at 10.00
Safari starts from Hotel Iso Syöte by snowmobile to the huskyfarm
where the huskies are eagerly waiting for visitors. After
introduction to the huskies and instruction you take of with the
huskies, strongly pulling your sledge. The safari route goes through
snowy forests and ice covered swamps in Syöte area. There are
stops to switch drivers and to take pictures.
Included: Snowmobile safari, husky safari, safari outfit
Duration: approx. 3 hours / approx. 6 km with huskies
Price: 175 € / person (2 adults/ dog team and max 1 child)
single driving supplement 40 € / person.
Kicksledge glides and rides at 14.30
A real Finnish way of moving around when snow covers the paths.
Kicksledges are big fun to glide down the hill and ‘kicking’ them upwards
again with one leg while the other is standing on one glider to hold the
grip. It takes some energy and action from yourself but it gives big
snowfun on the Iso Syöte hilltop. Your efforts are rewarded when
reaching the kota where the campfire will be made and hotdrink and
snack will be served.
Included: Kicksledges, safari outfit, hotdrink in kota near campfire
Duration: approx. 2 hours
Price: 49 € / person (1 person per kicksledge)
Northern light safari at 20.00
A nighttime snowmobile safari has a special
atmosphere when driving under twinkling stars on the fells and
through the snowy forests.
We stop to admire the stars in the sky.
We’ll have a coffee break by an open campfire.
When you are lucky, you might see the Northern Lights!

Wednesday
Snowmobilesafari to a frozen lake and ice
fishing at 10.00
We start from the hotel by snowmobile to travel
through the forest to go to a frozen lake. We bring the
gear with us to drill the holes in the ice and go ice
fishing on this beautiful lake. Coffee break by an open
fire. By snowmobile again back to the hotel.
Included: Snowmobile safari, ice fishing, coffee,
safari outfits
Duration: approx. 3-3,5 hours

A husky safari with lunch at the huskyfarm at 10.30
Transportation to the huskyfarm where the huskies are eagerly waiting
for visitors to come. Introduction to the dogs and instructions for sledge
driving. The safari route goes through snowy forests and ice covered
lakes and swamps. There are stops to switch drivers and to take
pictures. Back at the farm the huskies can be released to their yard and
cabins and for you lunch is prepared and served near the open fire.
Included: Husky safari, (ca 25km), transfer, safari outfit , lunch
Duration: approx. 4 hours (incl. return transportation)
Length and duration may change due to weather, snow and daylight conditions !

Fatbike ride on the hilltop at 14:30
Winter cycling with fatbikes out on the snowy tracks. A really exciting
experience. The guide will take you on a tour of about 3 km around
the hilltop of Iso Syöte. Step on the bike and enjoy the ride!
(You need a proper physical condition)
Included: Fatbike, cycle helmet, refreshment along the way

Northern light safari at 20.00
An evening snowmobile safari has a special atmosphere when driving under

Thursday
Visit by snowmobiles to a reindeer camp at 10.00
A snowmobile safari through snowy forests and over ice covered lakes to Lappish kote where
the reindeerman is waiting with his reindeer. Introduction by the reindeerman about the
reindeer and reindeer herding. Visitors will have the chance to ride in a sledge pulled by a
reindeer. Coffee and pulla at the kota.

Snowshoe hiking trip at 14.00
Our trip starts from the hotel after personal instructions how to use the snowshoes. The trip goes through the deep
snow covering the hilltop of Iso Syöte. Enjoying the views and the beautiful snow sculptures made by nature.
Discovering marks and tracks of animals and birds in the snow. During the break the guide will have hot drink and
cookies for you.

Husky safari 12 km and visit to a husky farm by car at 10.30
Transportation to a husky farm where husky dogs are eagerly waiting for
visitors. Introduction to team dogs and instructions upon arrival before husky
sledge ride. The safari route goes through snowy forests and ice covered
lakes surrounding the husky farm. En route stops to switch drivers and to
take photos. Included: Transfer, husky safari (approx 12 km) , safari outfit
Duration: approx. 2/2,5 hours (incl. return transfer)
Price: 158 euros/ person (2 adults/ dog team and max 1 child),
single driving supplement 40 € / person.

Friday
Ice fishing at 10.00
Ice fishing trip to beautiful frozen lake. Coffee break by an open fire.
Transfer to the lake by car. Drill the holes, lower the line and wait till you
get lucky! Campfire in kota.
Included: Ice fishing, transfer, coffee and snack, safari outfits
Duration: approx. 3 hours

Reindeer safari in old fashioned style at 09:30
This is a pleasant way of traveling sitting in a reindeer sleigh watching reindeer “caravan” move when connected by a
rope to each other.
The old fashioned Lappish way. Coffee and snack served in a “kota”.
Included: Reindeersafari, coffee and snack, safari outfit
Duration: approx. 2,5 hours ( 3,5-4 km)

A long snowmobile adventure at 09.45
A real big snowmobile adventure: a whole day ahead of driving by
snowmobile, far out in the nature and the snow covered forests,
driving to various type of terrain. A challenging ride of about 70-90km . We recommend one person per snowmobile to
really enjoy the fun and getting the chance to be an experienced driver. Up and down hill, making the right curves and
moves while using your bodyweight makes it even more exciting. Admire the area and enjoy the ride! We stop to make
campfire and have an outdoor lunch.
Included: Snowmobiles safari, thermo outfits, guide services, outdoor lunch and drinks

Saturday
Excursion to Ranua zoo + Rovaniemi Santa village at.09.00
Departure by bus from Iso Syöte hotel to Ranua Wildlifepark
2 hr visit in the park (approx € 14 p.p. entrance fee to be paid on the
spot). Onwards to Rovaniemi to the Polarcircle and visit to Santa’s
village. There are many souvenir and Finnish design / handicraft shops. If
you want you can meet Santa himself!
Included: Bus transportation (non- guided excursion)
Duration: approx. 8 hours
Price: 90 € / person (A minimum of 6 paying adults is
needed to be able to carry out this excursion.)
Safari to a reindeer farm by car at 09.30
A real cultural experience where you can learn more about the
culture and history of the area and reindeer breeding. We start from
the hotel and drive towards Virkkunen’s traditional reindeer farm
which is situated 18 km from the hotel. At the farm the owner tells
about reindeer herding and the life at the farm, history, culture and
traditions. He takes you to his herd of reindeer and afterwards
welcomes you into his home for coffee, homemade cakes and
reindeer sandwiches.

program, coffee and sandwiches
