Welcome to OATLANDS HOUSE Oatlands House is situated on five acres of pristine gardens, and is a true reflection of "Georgian" architecture, making it perfect for unique wedding receptions and garden ceremonies. Featuring yesteryear elegance, Oatlands House provides atmosphere and charm from the first sip of a celebration on the pillared terrace, to a romantic evening stroll through the lush gardens. With five rooms to choose from, your style and requirements will be well covered at Oatlands House. One of six highly awarded properties owed by Navarra Venues, together with Conca d'oro, Le Montage, Curzon Hall, Navarra Venues CBD Collection and the latest addition of Eschol Park Manor. H I S T O RY Constructed in 1823, Oatlands House was firstly owned by Captain Percy Simpson, an officer and former Governor of Paxos. In 1840, the house was sold to John Bettington who had started a business in George Street, Sydney with wharves at Darling Harbour. He became interested in sheep breeding with William Lawson, the explorer whose daughter he married and who was the first bride to be carried over the threshold of Oatlands House. It appears that Oatlands had acquired its name from Oatlands Park in England, close to the land of Lord Dundas after whom this area is named.
