IS COMING AGAIN!’
General Conference Business Session Theme – 2 to 11 July 2015

The recent General Conference Business Session of 2-11 July 2015
focused on debates and resolutions on different topics. There was also
a yearning from many speakers and leaders for Jesus Christ to come
quickly. Some were even expressing a desire to finish the gospel work, and
Had the church of Christ done her appointed work as the
experience the next General Conference Session in the New Jerusalem, Lord ordained, the whole world would before this have

been warned, and the Lord Jesus would have come to our
John, the Beloved, in the conclusion of the Book of Revelation. He said,
“Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” (Rev 22:20 KJV) earth in power and great glory.” (Desire of Ages, 1898, pp. 633,

The Apostle Paul, yearning for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, writing
by the Holy Spirit, declared that the gospel was preached to “every creature We pray that the Lord will revive us, as a Church in the SAU, instil the desire
which is under heaven,” (Col 1:23 KJV). Paul was reflecting on the world as to “hasten our Lord’s return”, and then enthuse us to proclaim with the

Years after the reflection of the Apostle, Ellen G. White wrote:
“ARISE, SHINE, JESUS CHRIST IS COMING AGAIN!”

Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the our good. All experiences and circumstances are God’s workmen whereby
heart is made better. Ecclesiastes 7:3 good is brought to us.

The trials of life are God’s workmen, to remove the impurities and roughness If we have a sense of the long-suffering of God toward us, we shall not

                    Sisters for Christ launched!
The first Sisters for Christ Launch drew 120 teens in the KNFC to Anerley Camp
from 27-29 March 2015. This is a programme for teens guided by Adventist
Women’s Ministries which will make a difference in their lives through service
          to God. Some of the topics under discussion at this launch, were, “Who am I?”;
“What is Sisters for Christ and why do we need it?”; “How will we make a difference,
what are our believes?”, “ Real Beauty.” The evening was celebrated by crowning
each of these teen girls as princesses in His kingdom, a dedicatory prayer was offered
and a big special cake with a delicious meal was prepared for them. More Sisters for
Christ chapters have been launched in Kokstad and Durban Central. We hope to see
more chapters in other conferences in future.

      YAWM ARISE
More than 450 young women of SAU got together in Bloemfontein during 22-24
May 2015 for their 3rd Congress. ‘ARISE’ was the theme.
The entire weekend was dedicated to the young women -
challenging them to be committed to chastity and useful
service for God. Two young women pastors were the
guest speakers, viz Pastor Lerato Makombe and Pastor
Nandi Flemming. Saturday evening was celebrated with
the Princess Banquet when all the AWM Conference
and Union directors addressed them regarding “The
Behaviour of a Princess.” They were all dedicated to
the Lord and crowned as Princesses of God.

                              Sunrise Prayer Walk
500 young Adventist Women (YAWM) and their leaders
did a prayer walk around Bloemfontein, early on Sunday
morning, 24 May 2015. They were divided into groups
of 20’s and went to strategic places to pray there. Some
were praying for homes, unemployed people, prostitutes,
sick people and even people they met in the streets.
Bloemfontein was just covered with prayers that Sunday.
It was concluded with a delicious breakfast and one group
invited some unemployed men in the streets to come and enjoy
                      breakfast with them.

AWM Week of Prayer and International Day of Prayer
Every year the first week of March is the AWM Week of Prayer. This
year our theme was, “At Jesus’ Feet”. It was extra special because we
encouraged young women in the local churches to be preachers. I
visited Bloem City Church and three more churches in Swaziland and
I was truly blessed. I then celebrated the International Day of Prayer
at Manzini Church with women around Swaziland. Our theme was,
“The Woman, The Prophet and The Prayer, It is well”. In the afternoon
we all celebrated the 20th anniversary of Women’s Ministries as a
                        department.

              MOWCS – TRANSFORMING LIVES THROUGH
                               CHARITY IN MOTION
Meals on Wheels Community Services South Africa (MOWCS SA) continues
to be a beacon of hope to many in South Africa.

Currently, Meals on Wheels Community Services South Africa through its
six area offices, operates from 228 established branches. If we include the
satellite points attached to these branches we have a total of more than
512 service points in every one of the nine provinces of South Africa.
After an extensive Monitoring and Evaluation Programme it was concluded
that the most urgent need in some of our provinces is infrastructure. Some
of our kitchens that are feeding approximately 500 to 600 people per day
do not even have tables to prepare their vegetables on. These branches
are focused on the elderly and children. The provinces that have been
identified are: Limpopo, North West, Kwa Zulu Natal and Eastern Cape. The
greatest need being in the Limpopo Province.

COMMUNITY SERVICES
50 YEARS OF SERVICE
Meals on Wheels Community Services of South Africa has reached a
milestone in 2014. On 16 July 1964, in East London, the first Meals on
Wheels-meals was delivered to 16 beneficiaries in the Duncanville area.

Today, 50 years later, God has blessed this organisation. Currently, Meals
on Wheels Community Services has 512 service points and is delivering,
on average, 1, 3 million meals per month throughout Southern Africa.

To mark this occasion, Meals on Wheels Community Services celebrated
the third leg of its anniversary celebration on 18 September 2014 at the
Indaba Hotel, Johannesburg, together with more than 400 guests. The
first celebration took place in Durban on 22 May 2014 and the second
was held in East London on 24 July 2014, fifty years and eight days to
the day since the first meal was delivered in East London. The final 50th
Anniversary celebration took place on 27 November 2014 in Cape Town.

We were honoured to have in our presence at the various events, Dr Denis
Baird and his wife, Honorary Patron and Founder of Meals on Wheels, Dr

youth. Our thanks to God for His mercies and blessings bestowed upon us. We are so blessed with
talented and dedicated teachers and leaders. They are continually encouraging and supporting our

Approximately 42 mothers and daughters gathered that morning for the
occasioned. The oldest mother that attended the event was 83 years old,
and the youngest daughter that participated was 7 months old. Aside from
the prepared breakfast, there were special and memorable games that
were played between mothers and daughters.

A highlight of this event was the renewal of relationship commitment
between the mothers and daughters. It was a highly emotionally-charged
moment when the time came for the mothers to express their love for their
daughters. And for the daughters to tell their mothers how much they mean
to their children.
