There is an ongoing structural change in the lingerie market
towards casual and low-price bras. How do you experience
this trend?
“
The trend is mainly driven by the young people of the Y-Generation,
the so-called „Millennials“. This target group differs fundamentally
from all previous generations. In addtion to their digital shopping habits
which affect the stationary trading, they indulge in cheaper, maybe less
sexy, but comfortable underwear. This trend has boosted the design of
puristic sport bras with functional breast support and breathability.
MUEHLMEIER offers a wide range of sporty M-TEC® BraCups for these
casual lifestyles with MetalFree supports and low-price removables.
What are your product concepts to give your brand customers
a competitive edge?

Sustainable fashion is no longer a niche topic. It is the key
of future success. What is your response to this trend?
The ambitious Sustainability Goal of Muehlmeier Bodyshaping is to have
at least 50% M-TEC ECO-Optimized products in the BraCup collections
for the Lingerie, Swim- and Athleisure Wear Industry by 2022. There
are different product concepts in development to reach that goal. To
boost upcycling of organic matter like coffee grounds from organic oil to
synthetics thus reducing the use of fossils is one of the eco-strategies to
follow.
What is your competitive advantage and what makes
Muehlmeier successful in the market?
Because of its 25 years of experience in BraCup production, Muehlmeier
has built a logistical network and supply chain, that spans the entire
globe. Of great importance is, that we guarantee worldwide shape-
identical BraCup supply.
The Asian markets are getting more and more important.
How is your Asia strategy?
The strong points of Muehlmeier BraCups are available in Asia already.
The problem of international brands is, that they have to commission
from different manufacturers for one collection. As a result, fitting and
colours often do not match. The service-concept of Muehlmeier ensures
that the various sewing companies are supplied with identical BraCups.
It also includes that „call-off orders“ are served from stock for a period
of 2 to 3 months.

bottom line is more flat to add the underbust band to the cup. The cups have more lateral extension to reach stability.

Spacer fabrics consist of two outer textile surfaces which are
connected by stiff spacer filaments, the connection layer. Because
of this resulting 3D structure,, spacer fabrics are also often called 3D-fabrics.
As a result of the special construction a permanent climate zone is arising between
the connected outer surfaces. This climate zone has a positive temperature regulative function.

M-TEC® Recycle to Upcycle BraCups
Using recycled synthetic materials to reduce sea plastic waste
One of the hightlight in this range is the M-TEC® BraCup with cover fabric made from 100% recycled polyester. With
a total weight of 11 g for a Strap Cup (without PushUp) the cover fabric accounts for 8 g of the total weight. This means
that in average 70% of the cup can be made from recycled polyester. Quite a huge step to reduce the ecological
footprint for BraCups and reduce sea plastic waste.
