There is a clearly identifiable trend towards the enhanced
economisation and commercialisation of established
sports science. Although research in sports science
generally occurs in university facilities, the free market is
increasingly setting the agenda and funding research con-
tracts: rehabilitation and prevention, nutrition and health
issues in the broadest sense, the evaluation of needs and
trends. The linking of research results and allowing science
to cooperate closely with companies has become extreme-
ly relevant as part of E-Health (health based on electronic
data processing) and I-Health (personalised applications in
the pursuit of health).

from dividends and companies generate new capital in
order to, for instance, realise their envisaged expansion
and growth plans.
