the 7th APRU Research Symposium on Ageing in the Asia-Pacific 6-8 November 2016● Beijing, China TO GUEST Welcome to the 7th APRU Research Symposium on Ageing in the Asia-Pacific, a big event taking place in the capital of China -- Beijing, from Nov. 6th to Nov. 8th. Under the theme of “Ageing, Innovation and Sustainable development”, researches with a wide variety of knowledge field, including gerontology and geriatrics, will be presented together. In this symposium, everyone will have the opportunity to communicate with others from all over the world. Global aging of the population has brought both opportunities and challenges. Increasing longevity is surely good news for everyone, while it’s also followed by lots of social, economic and cultural challenges to individuals, families, and even the global community, especially the Pacific Rim where ageing population grows rapidly. As for China, with the largest population size in the world and about 210 million people over 60-year-old by 2015, challenges are around the corner. To deal with them, it’s necessary to expand and regulate elderly care services. We sincerely look forward to seeing the attendance of you, your family, and your colleagues at the 7th APRU Research Symposium on Ageing in the Asia-Pacific in Beijing. We wish you a pleasant and worthwhile stay here. Committee of the 7th APRU Symposium Conference 4
