Bundesrepublik Deutschland Bundesnetzagentur • Standort Dresden • DLZ 4 • Semperstraße 7• D-01069 Dresden Dresden, 07.02.2020 Frequency assignment Regulation of fees for assignment of frequencies at sport events in Germany The German Federal Network Agency in Dresden is responsible for the assignment and licensing of frequencies at sport events. It has been proven useful to examine and when needed assign frequencies for use at events. Each usage must be approved. In Germany this approval is called Frequency assignment. Basis of this is the telecommunication law (Telekommunikationesgesetz TKG) There are various forms of assignments: 1. General assignment, these contain use and frequency ranges, which can be applied without further regulation by anyone (e.g. Walkie Talkie in the range of 446 MHz). 2. Single assignment with a time limit of 10 years. All civil use of frequencies fall under this form. Strict regularized technical parameters must be complied to. 3. Short term assignments with a time limit of up to 30 working days within 3 months. They are only applicable for one location and only for precise dates. Within the 3-month period the same frequency may be used at various successive locations with just one assignment (tour assignment). This is commonly used at sport events. For the assignment form under point 2 and 3 fees are applicable. The fee for the assignment under point 3, independent from the amount of devices, is for the first frequency 130 Euro and for any subsequent frequency each 50 Euro. This assignment form MUST be chosen if the technical parameters for single assignment following point 2 cannot be met (Frequency does not meet valid administrative regulation, higher transmitting power).
