Professional Appearance Code 11 Professional Appearance Code • Females: • A program selected white overcoat worn over Baju kurung / Blouse and slacks with or without head cover (tudung) • Clean dark colored covered shoes. • Unobtrusive make-up in good taste. False fingernails. a possible source of contamination. cannot be worn in the clinical area. • No nail polish may be worn in the clinical area. Males: • A program selected white overcoat worn over dark color slacks and shirt with tie. • Clean dark coloured cove red shoes. • Hair, beards and mustaches must be neatly trimmed. * Bring your own 3-layer face mask & at least 1 face shield , hand sanitizer & plastic apron 12 6
Tasks and Duties of The Students General: No eating, drinking or gum chewing in the clinical areas. § All uniforms must be of a reasonable fit to enable the wearer to perform his/her duties and maintain a professional appearance. § Students must be clearly identifiable as UiTM Medical Imaging students with nametag and student ID card any time they are in the clinical area. § Jeans of any type or quality are not acceptable. § Watch, ring, and small post earring are the only acceptable jewelry for females. § Other than ears, visible body piercing is prohibited. § Visible tattoos must be covered. § Fingernails should be short and clean for sanitary and safety reasons § Hair is to be neatly arranged and secured off the face. § Long hair must be tied back. § Oversized hair accessories are prohibited. § Personal pagers and portable music devices are prohibited. § Mobile/cellular phones must be set to vibrating mode only. § NOTE: The student appearance code must remain within the standards of the clinical site dress code. The instructor and/or affiliating agency staff have the right to remove from the clinical setting any student not in compliance with these dress codes. 13 PERKARA-PERKARA YG PERLU DIBERI PERHATIAN: (PATUHI SEMUA PERATURAN HOSPITAL DAN JABATAN) ANTARANYA: • Waktu kerja rasmi jabatan (8am – 5 pm (Bergantung kepada waktu bekerja hospital/ jabatan berkenaan; ‘ONCALL’ malam tidak dibenarkan). • Makluman dan kebenaran jika perlu berada di tempat selain dari yang ditetapkan dalam roster. • Sahsiah rupa diri: berpakaian lengkap dan kemas. • Menjalankan apa-apa arahan yang diberi semasa waktu bertugas. • Penilaian klinikal hanya boleh dilakukan oleh: Preseptor atau Senior Radiographer atau Radiographer yang telah berkhidmat sekurang- kurangnya 5 tahun. • Logbook: boleh di audit oleh radiographer yang bertugas di bilik pemeriksaan tersebut (perlu di cop). 14 7
PERKARA-PERKARA YG PERLU DIBERI PERHATIAN: (PATUHI SEMUA PERATURAN HOSPITAL DAN JABATAN) • Cuti terapung: 5 hari (MESTI isi borang ‘on-leave’; website MID) • Perlu mendapat kebenaran dan tandatangan Preseptor / Ketua Jabatan X-ray / Clinical Instructor – Borang perlu di emel kpd Madam Ann Erynna Lema Thomas Sudin angela@uitm.edu.my & c.c kpd Madam Nurzatul Azmira azmira0877@uitm.edu.my utk kelulusan (5 hari bekerja sebelum tarikh cuti kecuali cuti kecemasan) – Sila gunakan alamat emel menggunakan nama sendiri – (Emel Formal : Perlu ada subjek, beri salam & perkenalkan diri) • Borang akan dikembalikan kpd pelajar melalui emel dan diserahkan kepada Preseptor / Ketua Jabatan X-ray • Peringatan: Cuti terapung tidak dibenarkan utk dipohon pada minggu pertama, minggu terakhir klinikal & minggu pensyarah datang utk melawat. 15 PERKARA-PERKARA YG PERLU DIBERI PERHATIAN: (PATUHI SEMUA PERATURAN HOSPITAL DAN JABATAN) • Cuti sakit – MESTI kemukakan MC. Serahkan 1 salinan kpd preseptor / Ketua Jabatan X-ray dan maklumkan kpd Pn. Azmira • Cuti sakit hanya dibenarkan dari klinik / hospital kerajaan sahaja / dari tempat anda menjalani latihan klinikal • Salinan asal perlu dihantar bersama Clinical Portfolio. • MC yang terlalu lama (lebih dari 7 hari) – pelajar mungkin akan dinasihatkan utk cuti khas 1 semester (tangguh pengajian) 16 8
PERKARA-PERKARA YG PERLU DIBERI PERHATIAN: (PATUHI SEMUA PERATURAN HOSPITAL DAN JABATAN) OSL DOSIMETER – akan dihantar sekali sahaja kepada LP / CI pada minggu pertama bulan klinikal. Sebarang kelewatan sila terus berhubung dengan Encik Aiman. 1 OSL DOSIMETER akan digunakan sepanjang tempoh latihan klinikal. Deposit RM50 dari pelajar akan dipulangkan selepas penghantaran semula OSL. Sebarang kehilangan perlu diberitahu segera kepada En Aiman dan akan di caj (RM200) atau pada kadar semasa. Setiap pelajar akan dibekalkan dengan borang pemulangan OSL bersama- sama dengan OSL Dosimeter. Semua pelajar perlu merekodkan no rujukan penerimaan OSL DOSIMETER dan perlu di hantar pada hari pemulangan portfolio. 17 SIKAP 1. Bersikap mesra dengan semua kakitangan seperti memberi ucap selamat semasa bertemu (at least once a day – early morning) 2. Berkomunikasi secara berhemah semasa bertugas (dengan pesakit dan kakitangan). 3. Menunjukkan minat dan perhatian terhadap kerja yang dijalankan. 4. Sentiasa bersikap ingin tahu dengan lebih lanjut terhadap perkara-perkara baru yang ditemui. 5. Menunjukkan sikap profesional semasa menjalankan tugas. 6. Memberitahu Juru X-ray yang menjaga bilik jika anda perlu berada di bilik lain. 18 9

Display radiographic techniques and related factors on various patient presentations of the skull, thorax, abdomen, shoulder & pelvic girdles, CLINICAL upper & lower limbs & vertebral column. PRACTISE IN 2. Present an oral presentation on a given / GENERAL relevant topic to the radiology staff. RADIOGRAPHY 3. Demonstrate good values and attitudes in the performance of duties during clinical placement. 19 Objectives SEMESTER DURATION COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES 4 5 WEEKS 1. Display radiographic / radiological procedure, radiographic technical and related factors on various patient presentations of mobile & operation theatre (OT) CLINICAL / special / contrast / fluoroscopy procedures. PRACTISE IN 2. Demonstrate the ability to respect and accept opinion SPECIAL & from multi-racial and beliefs among staffs, colleagues and patients; able to foster good relationship and work CONTRAST together effectively in multi-disciplinary team in the IMAGING performances of duties in clinical placement. 3. Demonstrate information retrieval and management skills through literature search by explaining a scenario / situation with respect to knowledge, practice skills & professionalism observed during clinical placement. 20 10

Oral Presentation • Any related topic with medical imaging • 15-20 minutes presentation to radiological staff • Assess by LP and 5 senior radiographers more than 5 years experience • Send power point and video presentation by the end of semester…once dh present…(submit dlm ilearn and dlm portfolio) • Rujuk rubric oral presentation. 27 Procedure Write Up • Penerangan mengenai bagaimana projection yang dinilai oleh LP di jalankan. • Terdiri drpd: ü CXR (1), ü AXR(1), ü Upper (1), ü Lower (1), ü Spine (1), ü Skull (1), ü Pelvic (1), ü Shoulder (1) • Rujuk borang RP 28 14
Logbook • Perlu penuhkan mengikut guideline yg diberikan ü 250 – 300 cases = 10% ü If 200 cases = 7% ü If 100 cases = 5% • Penekanan diberikan pada correct projection with correct indication dan pengesahan radiographer. Ex: Indication: TRO # à BAD L !! Indication: distal end of humerus #, NOF # à AWESOME !! Projection : AXR Indication : Renal Calculi à WRONG L !! Projection : KUB Indication : Renal Calculi à CORRECT !! 29 LOG BOOK • Log in cases with the correct clinical indications. • Example: Skull – fracture frontal bone KUB – right renal calculus Abdomen – erect & supine, ?
