Weaving to- gether rousing renditions of classic songs from “Big Yellow Taxi” to “Ordinary Day,” West My Friend points students to the soul of the music whether it’s celebratory, social commentary, or just plain silly. Students will come away from this performance with a knowledge of some of Canada’s greatest folk music by such luminaries as Gordon Lightfoot, Joni Mitchell, Stan Rogers, Stompin’ Tom Connors, Barenaked Ladies, and Great Big Sea. Worlds of Puppets Peter and the Wolf Theatre K - 7 Performance The Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev created the story and Home Base: Iceland, Chicago the music Peter and the Wolf in the year 1936 to familiarize young people with the instruments of the symphony “Very Impressive” orchestra. The performance tells the story of Peter, who lives Olympic Heights Elementary, Calgary with his grandfather, and his friends the cat, the bird, and the duck. When a wolf appears, Peter’s ingenuity is put to the test as he sets out to capture the intruder.
