02 Reinvent Smart, dynamic and sustainable Ultra-Broadband networks Telefónica is one of the first operators that launched its new digital path many years ago. We are already prepared for the ongoing explosion in Mobile World Congress 2019 demand for data from our customers and we are committed to playing a relevant role. Telefónica is a company of smart platforms. We combine our assets in a coherent whole laying digital services and artificial intelligence on top of our world class network infrastructure and IT Systems to enhance customer experience and become more efficient. Our first platform ensures the best connectivity. We are investing heavily in Network and IT, evolving towards a flexible, programmable, software based and future proof network. Networks will only get smarter, with network slicing for dynamic resource allocation and to provide customers with their own virtual network and edge computing to reduce latency and increase security and privacy. As our lives become more and more dependent on technology, security emerges as a key attribute of the new connectivity, beyond speed, capacity and latency. And we are becoming digitally intelligent fulfilling customer demands, offering the best differential experience and preparing the company to compete in the digital world, whilst improving operational efficiency. Taking advantage of digitalization, simplification and a management based on optimizing the return on capital employed, to increase shareholders’ returns and be more relevant to them. 10

02 Reconnect Building a better, fairer society that leaves no one behind It is people that give purpose to technology. A human centric digitalisation needs to ensure that citizens are the primary beneficiaries and feel in control. Mobile World Congress 2019 Customers, employees, investors and society expect a new sense of responsibility from companies, and this is not a choice. Investors request a sense of purpose and customers and employees ask for more: 64% considers that firms and their CEOs should lead the solution of the main global problems19. We endeavour to grow in a sustainable way and in a fair regulatory environment, to deliver benefit to all our stakeholders, with a responsible, committed and inclusive business that positively contributes to the development of the societies in which we carry out our activity; promoting digital well-being and progress and fostering trust and digital confidence for a full human engagement. Data has given rise to a new economy that should benefit its owners. The use of data and AI must be secure and transparent and guided by values and ethical standards, putting customers in control of their data. We promote a connection with society, with a sense of responsibility, commitment, and fostering inclusive opportunities. Ensuring that connections are human (safe, simple, easy to use); giving our clients control over technology; Offering local services adapted to their needs; Taking care that no one is left behind; Leading a digital welfare movement that educates society about the value of connections (disconnect to connect) and their data; with educational innovation initiatives; reinforcing the potential of technology to protect the future of our planet; Connecting with the expectations of society to promote 21st century regulation that benefits everyone; Promoting an internal culture based on our values, which encourages a flexible and agile way of working and with a clear commitment to diversity. And because we are aware of our power, we will use it with creativity and responsibility: reimagining technology to make it more human; reinventing ourselves to open the door to new opportunities; relearning what we know to become more agile and efficient; rewriting the rules to create the world we want to live in. 19 Trust Barometer Edelman, 2018 18

The information captured by the sensors or devices of the near future will Mobile World Congress 2019 demand to be processed near the origin of the data, allowing low latency & real time responses, increasing privacy and security and reducing devices’ computational needs or inefficient communication capacity vs centralised Cloud. Explaining the technology with a simple interactive panel with LEDs to illustrate these benefits by comparing an E2E file transfer through Edge vs Cloud. 1B. Open Access First prototype of Open and Standard solution for Access Networks (OPA). Open Access showcased with Multi-access Edge Computing-use cases. Open and virtualized, fixed (OPA-F) and mobile (OPA-M) access network infrastructures, with self-developed software layers that increase the flexibility of deployments, multivendor interoperability on many levels and openness to incorporate third-party applications. 03 AREA AREA Digital Pinball 03 Reinventing Customer Experiences with AI & Open Interfaces Mobile World Congress 2019 3D. Movistar Home – Reinventing experiences Reinventing the way customers interact with technology at home, the way they have fun and manage connectivity. Say “OK Aura” and start doing amazing things. Now, we open the home platform to third parties to build and deliver more innovative and personalized experiences to customers. Robust systems are key to guarantee fulltime operation in all industries. Would you like to identify robust businesses, playing as a “hacker” in our digital pinball, trying to shut down operations? Kill two processes in each of three different system-based businesses23 to win! The natural evolution is going to the cloud and from physical machines to virtual machines, to containers. In each step your company grows on robustness, security, scale, efficient deployment, and pace. Move to Telefónica’s cloud containers! 23 1/ A low technological company based on non-redundant physical machines. System process recovery takes long. Killing business’ operations is a child’s game! 2/ A company using “virtual machines”, providing a substitute for a physical machine and executing computer programs in a platform-independent environment. A bit harder! 3/ A protected company using “containers”, offering a logical packaging in which applications can be abstracted from the physical environment in which they run. In less than 2 seconds after killing a process it is up and running, and with redundancy. A company protected from attacks. Your pinball increased superpowers will be Fire & Electricity (against physical machines), Virus (a “force” propagating from machine to machine). 32
