Health and Safety Executive To enable you to do this, you will receive NEBOSH accredited legal training which will allow you to develop your regulatory skills and apply them to the area of radiation protection; assessing levels of compliance with the relevant legislation and taking appropriate enforcement including improvement and prohibition notices and where necessary, prosecution. Interventions with duty holders will require you to liaise with staff at all levels from the shop-floor to senior managers. As a radiation specialist, you will in turn be involved in stakeholder engagement, working to promote good standards of radiological protection in a wide range of workplaces by attending meetings, giving presentations, providing assistance in drafting guidance and working with HSE’s Sector and Policy colleagues. Other work might find you dealing with technical enquiries to HSE, or being involved in assessment of Approved Dosimetry Services or RPA Bodies, to make sure they meet the standards set by HSE.
