One of the best things they do is facilitate MPs spending time at businesses on secondment, doing a deep-dive into the business and learning more about what they do. Last week I was very fortunate to spend three days with Air New Zealand in Christchurch and Auckland. An awesome experience which involved checking out their regional and international operations, engineering and maintenance units, time in the bowels of Christchurch airport looking at baggage and more, talking to their sustainability, investor relations and network teams to name a few, plus a bit of time up the tower at Auckland airport! A fantastic three days - thanks Air New Zealand and to every staff member who generously gave of their time. 8
