LAND PROMOTION STOFORD NEWS 2021 | 03 HOME Stoford shaking up strategic land market Stoford has launched a new initiative that is giving greater flexibility to UK landowners. Planning Process Guide The company’s land promotion and development agreements are designed to enable landowners to strategically promote land, and take up a series of disposal options during the development process. Land Director Andy Hartwright says the agreements are in the best interests of landowners and are presenting them with the opportunity to realise an enhanced land value and development profit. “What we’re offering is neither an option nor pure 2 8 9 promotion, it’s about taking the best of both and 4 6 1 3 5 7 giving the landowner a fair deal,” he says. “We operate with flexibility and transparency in the delivery on our agreed land objectives. This fully aligns with the partnership model that runs through all facets of the business.” Stoford’s land and planning team has expanded twice in 2021, with Andy joining along with Stacey Andy explains: “The sector has a weight of money 1 Site strategy 6 Development plan promotion Green, our new Planning Manager, both working chasing product, so competition is extremely high. closely with Jo Russell, Planning Director, in We also have a planning system that’s reluctant to What we’re offering is neither 2 The team 7 Planning application identifying new strategic sites for the company’s recognise the true need that it has, with a process an option or pure promotion, it’s 3 Technical & environmental 8 Disposal strategy development pipeline throughout the UK. that can be frustratingly slow. about taking the best of both and challenges giving the landowner a fair deal. 9 Landowner payments Stoford has more than £600 million worth of “We can navigate through with our proven track record 4 Local authority engagement developments, over 1.5 million sq ft on site across of coordinating occupiers, land and investment funds Andy Hartwright, Land Director, Stoford the UK and is actively seeking both allocated land that can often be the key to releasing the potential of 5 Stakeholder & community as well as land requiring strategic promotion. one site ahead of another. engagement It comes at a time of record industry take-up “The Stoford ethos is all about partnering on a where land is increasingly difficult to find. deal, which is why we have successful and lasting For more information, visit: relationships with numerous landowners, from private www.stoford.com/land individuals to corporate organisations.” DOWNLOAD PLANNING PROCESS GUIDE
