D id you know that the garage door is one of the most important parts of our homes but is often the most overlooked? When building a home, it’s easy to get excited about the kitchen sponsor spotlight and baths, and not so easy to remember this essential part. By Katrina Mailloux | Photos by Karen Akers We use it every day to come in and go out. We use the garage to store our vehicles and sometimes a second refrigerator full of our favorite beverages. In these parts, we even use it to house our precious golf carts! I always say that the lighting is the jewelry of the home, but after spending some time with John Humphrey, I decided I need to pay more attention to the actual face of the home – the garage door!
