The Board of Education appoints community members to its Audit Committee and can appoint Citizens Advisory Committees on School Finance, Athletics, Technology and Legislative Affairs. Meetings of the Board The Board of Education meets regularly during the school year, usually on the first and third Thursdays of the month. All meetings are open to the public and are generally held in the Community Room at the Manhasset Administration Building, 200 Memorial Place, at 8 pm. A unique four-digit PIN number is assigned to each student for quick access to her/his account. A student’s PIN will remain with him/her throughout the student’s enrollment in the Manhasset School District. When a student makes a purchase, he/she will enter their PIN, and the sale will be recorded. Parents are encouraged, but not required, to pre-fund the student’s account. The account may be funded weekly, monthly, or for the entire school year. Parents who do not want their child to participate in the POS system should opt out of the system.
