KRAZY-4-KARIJINI-KOACH TOUR April 19 – May 1, 2021 PROPOSED ITINERARY Day 1: Monday, April 19, 2021 Perth – Mt Magnet (565 kms – 6½ hours) Meet at Crown Casino parking area, Burswood,at 8:00 a.m. for departure at 8:30 SHARP. Look for coaster bus with Global Gypsies signs. We depart for Mt Magnet stopping en-route for morning tea & lunch (own expense) with rest stops in between. (Note that if no cafés are available for morning tea stops, we will provide snacks & juice en-route). Overnight & dinner at Commercial Club Hotel in Mt Magnet. (D) Day 2: Tuesday, April 20 Mt Magnet – Newman (620 kms – 6½ hours) After breakfast we depart for Newman stopping en-route for morning tea & lunch (own expense). Before checking into our accommodation at the Oasis Hotel (please be aware they’ve used a bit of creative licence with this name!), we visit the East Pilbara Aboriginal Art Centre in Newman. We then check into our hotel – remember to charge up your phones, cameras, chargers & laptops here as there is only limited power in Karijini! Overnight & dinner at Oasis Hotel in Newman (B, D) Day 3: Wednesday, April 21 Newman – Karijini (230 kms – 2½ hours) After breakfast we depart for Karijini National Park stopping en-route for morning tea. We take a pre-packed picnic lunch & enjoy it while visiting Dales Gorge, Fortescue Falls, Fern Pool, Circular Pool & the Visitor Centre. We check into our Karijini Eco-Retreat ‘glamping’ tents in late afternoon then gather for sunset viewing at the bar before enjoying an al-fresco dinner at the retreat (own expense). Overnight & dinner at Karijini Eco-Retreat. (Note there is NO wifi or mobile reception & only limited power supply at the retreat). (B, L)
Day 4: Thursday, April 22 Explore Karijini After a continental breakfast in the restaurant, we take a pre-packed picnic lunch & continue exploring the park at Weno & Hancock Gorges & Oxer’s Lookout pausing for morning tea (we will provide juice & snacks) & picnic lunch. We return to the retreat late afternoon in time for sundowners at Joffre Gorge Lookout (we will supply snacks but please BYO drinks from the bar). Dinner in the retreat restaurant (own expense). Guided astronomy tour that night by Remtrek (weather permitting). Overnight & dinner at Karijini Eco-Retreat (B, L) Day 5: Friday, April 23 Karijini – Cheela Plains Station (191 kms – 2¾ hours) After a continental breakfast in the restaurant, we enjoy a special one-hour private cultural presentation by an indigenous guide (to be confirmed), then drive on to Cheela Plains Station where we check into our farm stay accommodation & have lunch. We are given a presentation about the property in the afternoon & enjoy a home-cooked meal at the station that night. Dinner & overnight at Cheela Plains Station. (B, L, D) Day 6: Saturday, April 24 Cheela Station – Exmouth (462 kms – 5½ hours) After a country breakfast at the station, we take a pre-packed picnic lunch & drive to Exmouth, stopping for morning tea (we will provide juice & snacks) & lunch en-route. We check into our hotel & have a rest. Late afternoon we’ll drive out to the lighthouse to enjoy the sunset (we’ll bring snacks, plastic cups & an esky but please BYO drinks). Group dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at Potshot Motel in Exmouth (B, L) Day 7: Sunday, April 25 (Anzac Day) Exmouth – free day Join us for an optional dawn ANZAC service this morning. After a Gypsy Continental Breakfast (GCB) enjoyed in the privacy of your room, the day is free to relax at the pool, catch up on your sleep, or take an exciting (pre-booked!) optional marine adventure – swim with the whale sharks (March – August), go on a wildlife cruise, or choose from lots of other optional activities (activities & lunch at own expense). OR grab your mask, snorkel & bathers & join Jan & Jeremy for a trip out to Turquoise Bay (takes about an hour) for swimming & snorkeling in the amazingly clear water, a walk at Yardie Creek & a stop at the Visitor Centre. We return to the motel for a quick shower, then head off to Cadillac’s Bar & Grill for dinner & a very different Nashville-style night out (own expense). Overnight at Potshot Motel in Exmouth (B, D) 2
Day 8: Monday, April 26 Exmouth to Carnarvon (366 kms – 4 hours) After breakfast (GCB) we make an early start for Carnarvon stopping for morning tea en-route (we’ll provide snacks & juice). On arrival we go to the Old Jetty Café for lunch (own expense), tour the Jetty & Lighthouse Museums (really interesting!) & have a private tour of the Gwoonwardu Mia Heritage Centre. We then check into our motel & enjoy dinner in the motel restaurant. Dinner & overnight at Carnarvon Motel (B, D) Day 9: Tuesday, April 27 Carnarvon to Denham (350 kms – 3¾ hours) After breakfast (GCB) we visit the fantastic Carnarvon Space Museum, then stop at the popular local bakery for morning tea & to buy a sandwich for lunch (own expense). We then depart for Denham enjoying our treats en-route. On arrival in Denham, we check into our villa-style accommodation then stroll down to the beach later onto enjoy sundowners (we’ll bring the snacks, plastic cups & an esky but please BYO drinks). Tonight we enjoy a traditional fish & chips dinner on the beach (or make own optional dinner arrangements). Overnight at Wildsights Villas in Denham (B, D) Day 10: Wednesday, April 28 Monkey Mia/Denham A full day of nature & wildlife! After breakfast (GCB), we’ll watch the DBCA Rangers feeding the dolphins at Monkey Mia, then go on an optional wildlife cruise on the fabulous “Shotover” ocean catamaran! Or just relax on the beach. Lunch at own expense. Later that afternoon we’ll take an award-winning private indigenous cultural tour with our friend & business partner, Darren “Capes” Capewell of Wula Gura Nyinda Eco Adventures which concludes with a magical seafood BBQ on the beach! Overnight at Wildsights Villas in Denham (B, D) Day 11: Thursday, April 29 Denham to Kalbarri (400 kms – 4¼ hours) After breakfast (GCB) we depart for Kalbarri stopping for lunch en-route (own expense). On arrival we check into our accommodation. Afternoon free to relax, take a swim, catch up on our sleep or stroll along the beachfront. Dinner & overnight at Palms Motel in Kalbarri (B, D) Day 12: Friday, April 30 Kalbarri National Park Get up early to watch the pelican feeding on the foreshore & enjoy breakfast (GCB) in your room. We then depart for Kalbarri National Park stopping at a local café to grab a sandwich for a picnic lunch (own expense). We’ll go exploring in the park where we’ll visit Nature’s Window, take a bushwalk & check out the new Skywalk attraction. We’ll return to Kalbarri township early afternoon & have the remainder of the day at leisure. Special Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant tonight. Dinner & overnight at Palms Motel in Kalbarri (B, D) 3
Day 13: Saturday, May 1 Kalbarri to Perth (570 kms – 6½ hours) After breakfast (GCB), we depart for Perth stopping for morning tea (we’ll provide snacks & juice) & lunch en-route (own expense). We arrive at the Crown Casino parking area late afternoon (B). Established in 1997, Global Gypsies coordinates & leads a range of self-drive eco-adventures in outback Australia & (COVID permitting!) escorted tours to numerous exotic & remote overseas destinations. Jan & Jeremy have won awards for their tours & training courses in 4WD’ing, towing & tour guiding; the couple have also published a book entitled How to Be an Award-Winning Tour Guide. Born in South Africa, Jeremy is a professional Tour Guide & former Tour Guide of the Year. He is a qualified mechanic & an experienced 4x4 driver. He holds a certificate in remote area first aid & a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment. Prior to establishing Global Gypsies, he was Managing Director of a major advertising agency in Johannesburg & the manager of a safari camp in Kenya’s Rift Valley. He immigrated to Australia in 1996. Jan is a former journalist, travel writer & communications manager & is responsible for the administration, marketing & customer relations aspects of Global Gypsies. Born in England, she has lived & worked in Africa, America & the UK & travelled extensively but has called Australia home for most of her life. 4

Terms & Conditions • The Krazy-4-Karijini-Koach Tour (K4K) is being operated & conducted by Global Gypsies Pty Ltd of Western Australia (GG). • Clients to arrange to meet group at 8:00 a.m. on Day 1 as described. • In order to reserve a place, a non-refundable deposit of AUD$500 per person will be required by February 28, 2021, with the balance due on March 22, 2021. • Clients who cancel their booking after March 23, 2021, will forfeit all moneys paid to date. • Whilst all care is taken, GG accepts no liability for loss or damage to baggage, sickness or injury or additional or subsequent expenses caused by factors beyond their control. • Travel insurance is compulsory & must cover most circumstances of cancellation as well as luggage loss, medical cover & evacuation. • I accept that this tour is of an adventurous nature & involves an element of personal risk & accept responsibility for all risks. • I agree that neither GG nor their agents can be held liable for any injury, damage to property or loss of life caused. • Itinerary is subject to alteration without notice & is intended as a guide only. Alterations may occur due to weather conditions, mechanical defect to vessels or vehicles, political events, pandemics or other reasons. • Any additional expenses or subsequent damages incurred by clients due to itinerary alterations as outlined above are not GG’s responsibility. • The operators and/or their agents & employees are unable to guarantee exact arrival & departure times & will not be liable for failure to make connections with any other services. • In event of breakdown or other unforeseen circumstances, GG reserves the right to substitute different carriers & personnel. • Properties used may change, however the same or similar standard is guaranteed. • Accommodation is on a twin-share basis with separate beds. Some double accommodation is available & will be allocated to couples travelling together. • As a solo traveller there is no single supplement charge for your hotel room if you are happy to share with a ‘buddy’ arranged by GG. • I agree to comply with the laws & regulations of the places visited & to comply with all reasonable instructions of the tour escorts & local tour guides relating to the safety & organisation of the tour. • Any legal conflict with GG shall be resolved in the jurisdiction of Western Australia. • Please keep luggage packed in soft/pliable bags with wheels - maximum 15 kg per person. • ALL prices are based on 2021 costs & are subject to change if subsequently affected by increased government taxes, increases in fuel prices and/or any other influence beyond the control of the operators.
