Canadian Science Publishing is an independent

CSP began as the NRC Research Press in 1929 and has continued to grow and evolve to
meet the needs of the global scientific community.
CSP publishes the NRC Research Press suite of journals as well as FACETS, Canada’s first
multidisciplinary open access science journal, and Anthropocene Coasts, an open access
journal launched in partnership with East China Normal University.

Anthropocene Coasts

Anthropocene Coasts publishes multidisciplinary research
that aims to understand and predict the effects of
human activities, including climate change, on estuarine
and coastal regions. Anthropocene Coasts publishes
primary research articles, research reviews, topical
communications, and letters.
The Anthropocene is the period during which human
activities have had a marked environmental impact on the
Earth, and Coasts embraces all aspects of the land–sea
interface. Anthropocene Coasts therefore seeks to identify
and document the influence of human activities on
contemporary coastal processes (physical, biological
and chemical processes across the land–sea interface)
and the implications for other aspects of these systems
including social, economic, and legal considerations.

Arctic Science is an open-access peer-reviewed journal.
An interdisciplinary journal, it publishes original
peer-reviewed research from all areas of natural
science and applied science and engineering related
to northern Polar Regions. The focus is on basic and
applied science including the traditional knowledge
and observations of the indigenous peoples of the
region as well as cutting edge developments in biological,
chemical, physical, and engineering science in all northern
environments. Reports on interdisciplinary research are
encouraged. Special issues and sections dealing with
important issues in northern polar science are also
considered.

Published since 1993, this quarterly e-only journal pres-
ents authoritative literature reviews on a wide range of
environmental science and associated environmental
studies topics, with emphasis on the effects on and
response of both natural and manmade ecosystems
to anthropogenic stress. The authorship and scope are
international, with critical literature reviews submitted

Canada’s first and only multidisciplinary
open access science journal

The objective of FACETS is to provide a high-quality, af-
fordable Canadian open access option that best serves
the publishing and dissemination needs of Canadian as
well as international researchers. FACETS encompasses
a broad range of scientific and multidisciplinary areas
and publishes technically sound research that demon-
strates a contribution to advancing knowledge. The
multidisciplinary nature of FACETS provides a new ve-
hicle to promote and showcase research in the global
community.
FACETS primarily features research articles, but also
includes review articles, communications, notes,
perspectives, editorials, and science applications forum
papers. FACETS currently focuses on seven research areas:
Biological and Life Sciences, Biomedical and Health
Sciences, Data Science, Earth and Environmental
Sciences, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics,
Integrative Sciences, and Physical Sciences.

The Journal of Unmanned Vehicle Systems was established
in spring 2013, with the first issue published that fall.
This quarterly electronic-only journal features editorials,
articles, notes, and letters related to developments in
the rapidly emerging international field of unmanned
vehicle systems (remotely controlled machines used for
aerial, terrestrial, and aquatic systems) and their sensors.
The journal is broadly themed into four main areas of
applications of practical and academic interest: civil,
environmental, military, and engineering technology.
Submissions are welcomed from researchers and
practitioners in academia, government, and industry
from all over the world.

This quarterly journal, established in 1972, publishes
materials that are of a reference or archival nature in
the field of mechanical engineering or related disciplines.
It includes papers reporting on fundamental research
and on the development of design methods that
constitute an original contribution to design; review
papers that provide a significant evaluation of, and
perspective on, recent developments; notes reporting
interim work, or work not warranting a full paper, on
original research or design; and letters to the editor.
Formally published by the Canadian Society for
Mechanical Engineering, this journal was acquired by
Canadian Science Publishing in 2017 and will be part
of the 2018 subscription offering.
