Lot 1 about the ranch SANDHILL CATTLE COMPANY EARTH, TEXAS • 806-647-6149 Sandhill Cattle Company, located in the panhandle of Texas, was established in 1998 by Tripp Townsend and Bruce Bridges. In 2008, Riley Smith became partner in the operation. Sandhill currently leases 15,000 acres of grass in Lamb Co. which runs about 1,500 head of company and customer cattle in the summer. During the winter, 3,000 head of yearlings are cared for on wheat pasture. Sandhill Cattle Company owns 200 head of cows and also owns a 2,000 head pre-conditioning lot. Sandhill keeps around five broodmares that are bred to different outside stallions. 7

Three generations of the Thompson family have lived and ranched in the Rolling Plains area, beginning in the early 1900s. Thompson Ranch is a cow/calf and yearling operation, running yearlings on wheat pasture in the winter and grass in the summer months.
