Background In addition to being an engine of innovation and support in the field of entrepreneurship, as well as contributing to the economic and social well being of Quebec for more than 30 years, microcredit is the first step in our province’s chain of solidarity financing mechanisms. Microcredit is the gateway for many entrepreneurs who have little or no access to conventional sources of funding. The Fonds communautaire d’accès au micro-crédit (FCAMC) was established 20 years ago in collaboration with various partners in the Lower Laurentian region. The organization intervenes in a sector neglected by others. It occupies a unique niche that neither overlaps nor duplicates the efforts of other players present in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. It fills a void in the technical and financial support of entrepreneurs who do not have access to conventional sources of funding. Over the years, the FCAMC has developed a strong expertise in the field of entrepreneurship. Indeed, it has become a leading organization in the development of the Lower Laurentian region and, more recently, in the southern part of Lanaudière. The FCAMC serves the entire Lower Laurentian region, specifically the RCMs of Thérèse-De Blainville, Deux- Montagnes and Mirabel. In addition, we are continuing our efforts to develop the southern part of Lanaudière. The FCAMC is proud to offer funding and microcredit services to help launch various businesses. 2

FCAMC Message from The fiscal year that is coming to an end was that of our 20th anniversary. We celebrated this event on October 30 last year and took this opportunity to stress the the President wonderful work done by our teams, our volunteers, our employees, our partners and the board members. Our entrepreneurs were at the heart of the event. They are the ones we have been helping these last 20 years. Their success and their growth make us proud. These past 20 years, we have extended close to 300 loans totalling more than $1,250,000. These loans helped create and maintain 585 jobs. These are concrete results with great economic benefits for us, our community and our organization. Our capitalization fund has also increased by $70,000 thanks to a substantial donation from the Canadian Alternative Investment Foundation (CAIF). We thank them warmly for their help. This sum will help us assist our local entrepreneurs. I need to stress that 2019 ended dramatically in Quebec with the arrival of COVID-19. We will stand with our entrepreneurs, to help and assist them during this terrible crisis, as we have done for the past 20 years. Life is comprised of successes and challenges. Ginette Demers Our role is to help entrepreneurs achieve success and overcome the challenges they face. In that respect, this crisis gives even further meaning to our action! Message from This year, during which our entrepreneurs have known great success, ends with an the Director immense challenge: to help our entrepreneurs successfully navigate the COVID-19 crisis. Our loan repayment policies are sufficiently flexible to help businesses rather than to put undue pressure on them. Therefore, we were able to help and relieve our entrepreneurs rather than add additional stress to a difficult situation. Incidentally, it is during crises like these that our services are the most needed. Business ideas are popping up all around, and we are to help as we were before the arrival of COVID-19. Our capitalization, our customized support and our vast experience of entrepreneurship are enabling the community, as they have been for the past 20 years. More than ever, we know that our services are essential. I wish to thank our institutional partners, the members of the Board of Directors and the Loan Committee, the organization’s donors as well as our task team. Without their support, the FCAMC’s work would not be possible. Mona Beaulieu Mission The mission of the FCAMC is to help people who don’t have access to conventional sources of funding or whose entrepreneurial endeavours are being held back. We fulfil this mission by offering entrepreneurs advice, support and guidance and by providing then with funding to launch their business project and create their own job. MicroEntreprendre Entrepreneurial microcredit is an economic lever with an important social impact. Réseau MicroEntreprendre (MicroEntreprendre network) celebrated the National Day of Community Credit last March 11. In 2009, the National Assembly of Quebec declared March 11 the National Day of Community Credit. This celebration is an opportunity to draw attention to the importance of microcredit in Quebec, as well as its economic and social impacts. The objective of the 12th edition of this celebration, which coincided with the 20th anniversary of the network, was to promote entrepreneurial microcredit and celebrate its economic impacts as the first link of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Quebec. Microcredit, which is a solution aimed at entrepreneurs that don’t have access to conventional funding systems, is a major contribution to the economic development of Quebec. Karina Minner and John Kevin Morin, owners of JKM Mécanique Mobile which started in 2012 with the support of the FCAMC, offered a touching testimony. JKM Mécanique Mobile offers complete maintenance and repair services for heavy vehicles (trucks, semi trailers, refrigerated trucks). JKM Mécanique Mobile is on its way to becoming a true leader in the field of mechanical management for fleets of heavy vehicles. The business has a sales figure of more than two million dollars, owns several mobile units and provides jobs to over 20 employees. And this is not to mention several other projects that are in the works. “We never could have started the company without the FCAMC. You believed in us and in our project and today, we can see the results.” Where many see a risk, MicroEntreprendre, Quebec microcredit, sees human capital. 5

Results The FCAMC helps people who have little or no access to conventional sources of funding to take their place in our society and to achieve financial independence. The loans granted by the FCAMC are often the first step of funding which enables the promoters to obtain funds from other partners. Without this initial injection of funds, many entrepreneurial projects would never see the light of day. The FCAMC is characterized by its accompaniment and technical support services in addition to its loans. This approach instills a relationship of trust with the entrepreneurs and fosters favourable conditions for loan repayment and commercial success. 20 th anniversary of the FCAMC Twenty years of success The Fonds communautaire d’accès au micro crédit (FCAMC) celebrated its 20th anniversary last October 30th. This event, presented as a cocktail dinner, was held at the Centre de formation des Nouvelles-Technologies in Sainte-Thérèse in the presence of partners, donors and investors, as well as the entrepreneurs that were supported by the FCAMC. We celebrated more than 288 women and men who had the courage to launch their business projects by requesting a loan from the FCAMC. More than a hundred of them are still in business 20 years later. We organized this event to reconnect, to thank them for daring to follow the entrepreneurial path and to have put their trust in us. Many were surprised when we showed nine videos created by Holos Cinétique, one of FCAMC’s promoters, sharing the stories of these men and women, their trials and tribulations, their perseverance and finally, their commercial success. It is with great emotion that these entrepreneurs explained how the services offered, including the funding provided by the FCAMC and the team’s support, had made a difference in their lives and that without the trust we placed in them, they couldn’t have achieved success. The promoters were able, in a few words, to describe what our organization had meant to them. Bless’ED PIXEL Ewhyn Debrosse The trust they provide! It’s the first step! It’s incredibly helpful!
