The movement (sometimes known as second wave feminism, or the women’s movement) emerged across the western world in the late 1960s with Michelle Arrow is Professor in Modern History at Macquarie University. She is the author of three books, including a powerful critique of the prevailing post-war gender order. One of the movement’s fundamental insights was also one of its strongest slogans: ‘the The Seventies: The Personal, the Political and the Making of Modern Australia (New South, 2019) and Friday on personal is political’.
