Day 4 - Saturday, May 14: Reykjavik, Iceland

Destination of the day is Þórsmörk – the “Woods of Thor the
Thundergod”. Guarding Þórsmörk nature reserve from
unwanted traffic are several streams and glacial rivers cutting
the rough track. Crossing requires caution but is a breeze in a
Superjeep. We will visit powerfully beautiful Seljalandsfoss
waterfall, a good 60 meters of constant rush. Conditions permit-
ting, how about a walk around it – yes, you can go behind
Seljalandsfoss. Soon after the road starts disintegrating and
nature takes over your senses.

Bordering Þórsmörk nature reserve to the south is the famously
ash-spewing volcano Eyjafjallajökull, topped by glacial ice and
snow. Amongst numerous places of interest on our route is the
Gígjökull glacier lagoon which is actually off the maps now. In
2010 it disappeared under volcanic rubble in a catastrophic
flood of glacial melt and debris, caused by the Eyjafjallajökull
eruption. Where we go in the Þórsmörk Nature Reserve
depends from day to day on weather and other conditions, but
canyons, woodlands and caves are ideal settings for short
walks.

beautiful façade is probably the most-photographed in Jaipur, with
ornately carved windows designed so the ladies of the palace
could look out onto the streets unobserved. It is considered as the
finest example of Rajput architecture whose lattice like exterior of
sandstone and stained glass is one of the area’s most eye-

chambers and hallways of the palace. Within the complex is
Ganesh Pol, an imposing gateway painted with the images of the
elephant-headed god, Ganesh. The merging of Rajput and

NOTES:
Because of the numerous climate zones we will be crossing and the complex logistics required for
this Journey, all participants should be ready for some last minute changes.

On every Flying Day, lunch is not included. For safety we recommend you order a lunch box at the
hotel on the day before departure which will be charged to your room. Do not eat at the airports!

There is no tour on the schedule of each day of arrival so you can relax at your beautiful hotels. Our
half-day city tours are normally scheduled for the morning after our arrival at a destination.

All dinners while on this tour are “a la carte”.

 A Pilots Meeting will be scheduled the evening prior to the next day’s flight for each destination.

 Hotels may change within same category until two weeks before departure or during the tour if a
delay makes the hotels no longer available.
