St. Vincent-St. Mary graduate and works as an NBA
reporter at ESPN. He appears on television, radio,
podcasts and writes for espn.com. Brian began his
journalism career in 1994 when he began working
for the Akron Beacon Journal. He worked there for
16 years, eventually becoming the youngest traveling
beat writer in the NBA at age 25 in 2003. Brian has
written four books and is a New York Times best
seller. His close association to STVM, created by his
mother Merrylou’s nearly five-decade career, helped
Brian get a jump on the entire world when he met a
lanky 14-year-old freshman in 1999 named LeBron
James. You and your guests will be the envy of every
sports fan as Brian shares insider stories and you get a
glimpse into the NBA universe.
This will be an amazing five course meal for 10 with
the menu chosen by your group and prepared by AVI.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, STVM
continues to adapt and innovate our fundraising
efforts for our Showcase event. This year, we focus
on the heart of our Irish Community, which is our
home.
We know that our home has become the center of our life, especially
this past year. It has also been our safeguard from the challenges of
our difficult world. Home is where we have transformed our lives in
work and play, meal time or movie time, catching up on sleep and the
importance of serving our Lord.
One of our main objectives for Showcase this year is to raise important
financial support to upgrade our home. Our plan is to implement a
new security and public announcement system throughout our campus
by the end of this school year. These systems will allow us to secure our STVM home with state-of-the-art
technology capabilities for the protection of our students, faculty, staff and members of our community for
the next 50 years!
We hope we can count on you to help us reach our financial goals for this vital infrastructure project. Your
generosity demonstrates that our Irish Community is united in its mission to move STVM forward and build
toward our future to protect this wonderful institution.
