3 HarborCenter Overview: The HarborCenter team would like to welcome you to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association’s 2019 Girls Regional Ice Hockey Championships to Buffalo, NY. Buffalo has hosted many successful large-scale hockey events, including the 2015 U-18 Women’s World Junior Championship and the first National Hockey League Winter Classic in January 2008 at Ralph Wilson Stadium. This community has also been home to several NCAA Division I Basketball Championship events. HARBORCENTER, the location for this event, is connected to First Niagara Center, home of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres. HarborCenter will be a world-class destination for hockey development for all ages and skill levels and features two rinks on the sixth floor, IMPACT Sports Performance's 4,600 sq. ft. training facility, (716) Food and Sport restaurant and sports bar, a one-of-a kind Tim Hortons, 750-space parking garage and a 205-room, full-service Marriott hotel. The sport and entertainment complex will be open and the hotel features on the sixth level -11 locker rooms, a 40-seat theater, a 50-seat classroom, Rapid Shot skill-enhancing system and a pro-shop. A player from the Buffalo Beauts, the local NWHL team, speak for about 15-20 minutes. Fruit, vegetables, and other healthy snacks will be offered along with beverages. It is our goal to have all four teams in attendance for this function.

We look forward to your arrival and hope that you have a memorable experience while you are in Buffalo. It is our intention to make this not only a first class championship weekend, but also to make your stay here in the city, hospitable. We hope that you find this tournament packet helpful in your preparation for these championships. The local organizing committee also feels that it is important to provide any support and assistance upon or prior to your arrival. 6 Pre-Tournament Arrangements: First, Congratulation on qualifying for this year tournament. Each team will be contacted by your Sectional coordinator after your team has qualified for the regional championships. They will help you and your team with any questions, concerns or issues you have leading up to the tournament until you depart from the tournament. Teams must communicate with their Coordinator so proper arrangements can be made for your arrival. Please take a few minutes to review and complete the pre-event checklist. MAXPREP SUBMISSION Review and complete the PROGRAM ROSTERS /TEAM PHOTOS Submitting Rosters for Championship Programs Section coordinators/schools/coaches must follow the roster submission procedure to ensure their roster appears in the program. Rosters must only be submitted via the nysphsaa.org web site. Here are the instructions: MaxPreps and the NYSPHSAA are extremely excited to launch a partnership that will provide team information entered into MaxPreps directly to the NYSPHSAA. This partnership will provide member schools with a single process to report schedules, scores, and box score information. MaxPreps will automatically provide the following information to the NYSPHSAA: *Rosters Information *Team Pictures *State Records *Statistical Leaderboards In order to efficiently manage the above initiatives and equitably promote all member schools, coaches are instructed to submit complete box score information to MaxPreps after each contest. NYSPHSAA will also require teams who qualify for state championships to submit their photo and roster on MaxPreps for championship program purposes. ***If you do not have your “access code” to your team account, MaxPreps will send coaches and Athletic Directors an easy set-up guide with their “access code” prior to the start of the season. You can also contact MaxPreps support staff directly at 800-329-7323x1 or email support@maxpreps.com to get your “access code” at any time. HOW DO I LOAD MY ROSTER AND TEAM PHOTO ONCE I SIGN IN? 1. After you sign into Maxpreps.com with your email and password, hover over test in the upper right-hand corner that says “hi, Your First Name” to access your admin account. IMPORTANT: you can contact MaxPreps at 800-329-7324x1 or email support@maxpreps.com if you don’t have your “access code” already. 2. Once you go to your team page you can upload your roster by clicking “Roster” in the horizontal menu bar. 3. From the Roster page, you have a few options to update your roster: *You may “Copy Roster from Last year” *To add individual athletes, select “+Athlete”
7 *You may also email your roster to rosters@maxpreps.com and MaxPreps team will load them in 3-5 business days. 4. To load your team photo, go back to your team admin homepage by clicking “HOME” in the horizontal menu bar. 5. Then click on “Photo” in the “Mascot & Team Photo” section in the lower right- hand section of the admin homepage. 6. From there simply click “Choose File” and select the file from your computer, then click “Submit” and you are done! Uniforms/Home Team: The home team will be in white or light colored jerseys and the away team in dark. The home and away team will be determined by a flip of the coin. The team that travels the farthest will be the team that calls the flip. The semi-final games will be determined 1 hour before the scheduled warm-up time with the State/Regional Coordinators. The coaches of the teams that advance to the championship will report to the press box area 45 minutes prior to the scheduled warm-up time for a coin flip. The team that wins the flip, calls their jersey color which will also determine who will get last change as the home team. Teams will supply their own their own warm-up puck. Game pucks will be provided. Credentials: All staff and players will be provided credentials when arriving at the arena on Friday afternoon. These credentials must be worn at all times during the course of the weekend. Only those with credentials will be allowed in the locker room areas. Any players that plan to go back and forth between their hotel room and the arena to watch other games or do other activities will not be allowed in without their credential. The credentials will be distributed based on the provided roster that the committee needs by Tuesday morning. Teams need to travel with their own warm-up/practice pucks. Game puck will be provided for both days. Arriving at the rink: When you arrive for the semi’s at the Harbor Center, you will be met by a member of the local organizing committee and/or your Sectional Coordinator. This person will show you to your locker room, which will be yours for the weekend. All hockey gear should be left in the locker room until your departure. Please make sure Sectional Coordinator Rick Hopkins or our Regional Coordinator –Jenn Gray knows your approx. arrival time. Gate List: Each school will be provided a gate list of school personnel that will be allowed into games without being charged an admission. Admission. Admission is $7.00 per day. No will be allowed into the arena without proper credentials or on the gate list unless they pay admission. Gate lists need to be into our NYSPHSAA Coordinator’s hands 5 days prior to the Semi-final competition. Please see the gate list in the attached addendum.

Awards Presentation immediately following the conclusion of the game! -Sportsmanship (1) per team & an All-Tournament team will be announced! Regional Finalist & Championship Plaques will be presented along with the NYSPHSAA Certificates.
