SIMPLIFY Design Standard Gutter Guard is a fourth generation product designed and manufactured in Washington State. Through years of development, testing, and proving, this design became one of the most easily installed, functional, and affordable stainless steel gutter guards on the market today. This process involved the gathering of information from hundreds of customers that have used our earlier products and then allowed us to apply some of those ideas to help make this new product the best on the market. This versatility of this product to work with so many different styles and sizes of gutters and roofs hasn’t been attempted with a stainless steel product. A key feature is the flexible, yet highly durable aluminum body that installs less than a ¼” recessed below the lip of the gutter. This almost invisible, non intrusive design allows it to function in even the hardest of rain storms.
How Standard Gutter Guard is Different Material: The base of Standard Gutter Guard is comprised of .019” aluminum supplied from Alsco Metals Corporation and is made of 92.08% recycled aluminum. It is made from the same material as downspouts and has the same manufacturer material warranty. The stainless steel screen is purchased from McNichols Company in Washington State. The steel mesh is comprised of a 304 alloy, square weave, 30 mesh, .012” wire, and with .0213” openings. Essentially, this screen was specifically chosen because the holes are small enough to keep out roof granules, pine needles, and any larger debris from entering the gutters. However, the holes are large enough to allow pollen and bio-organic material to pass through and flush out the gutter system. Construction: Standard Gutter Guard is produced using the roll forming method. Roll forming is ideal for producing constant profile parts with long lengths and a consistent outcome. The stainless steel screen is held in place to the solid aluminum substrate using pittsburgh seams. There is no glue, pins, or caulking used in the production of Standard Gutter Avoid Clogged Gutters!
The Pitfalls of Open Gutters According to data from the The upkeep and maintenance involved with home US Safety Commission, ownership can be daunting. But the results from failing to more than 2.1 million do so can be dangerous and costly. Gutters are designed to people were treated for control the flow of water from the roof and unfortunately ladder accidents in hospital debris in gutters is the primary reason for the gutter system emergency rooms between to fail. The regular chore of climbing a ladder and 1990 and 2005 scooping out the muck in gutters is a mandatory task and failing to do so can result in a long list of potential hazards to include: • Foundation settling • Cracks in the dry wall • Siding damage • Landscape erosion • Wood rot • Pest and critter infestations • Fire Hazards • Paint Damage • Roof Damage • Water Runoff • Walkway ice hazards in the winter
Standard Gutter Guard Installation of Standard Gutter Guard 1. 1. If not installing on new gutters, clean existing gutters and ensure downspouts are functioning properly. 2. Begin installing by placing Standard Gutter Guard on top of the gutter with the vertical flange against the fascia and behind the drip edge if possible. For best function, it should lay flat and level. Fasten Standard Gutter Guard to the gutter through the top lip (Figure 1) every 2 (two) feet or as needed. 3. To support the back of Standard Gutter Guard, it is recommended for best application to be installed on top of hangers spaced every two (2) feet. At times where there is not a hanger nearby, a screw can be applied through the back of the vertical flange into the fascia board (do not over tightened) to ensure the guard is level (Figure 1). 4. To adjoin two pieces together, make a cut ½” on the front lip of (Figure 2) the guard as well as the back flange and removal all material except for the flatten pan and screen. (Figure 2) This ½” piece is then placed under or over the next or preceding piece, depending on where the hanger is, to support and stabilize the other piece of guard. (Figure 3) 5. At the end of a run, make a cut on the guard to ensure it is inside the endcap by approximately ¼” to ensure water does not flow over the endcap. (Figure 3) Installation of Outside Corners 1. Measure and mark a 45° angle from the outside edge of the front of the screen on the guard toward the back. Using tin snips, cut along the line drawn and then cut and remove one (1) inch of the vertical flange (Figure 4). 2. When installed, a ½” to 1” overlap should exist. Place screws one (1) inch from the end to secure the guard, as well as one screw through the overlap (Figure 5). (Figure 4)
Standard Gutter Guard Installation of Inside Corner 1. Mark the guard where the front side of the opposite gutter intersects Standard Gutter Guard, this is typically four (4) inches on a 5K gutter and five (5) inches on a 6K gutter (Figure 1) . 2. Make a 45° cut using tin snips from the mark to the back of the guard. Then cut the front lip of the guard an additional one (1) inch from the corner (Figure 2). (Figure 1) 3. Using hand breaks, vend the louvers under the screen down at a 90° angle. This bend should be one (1) inch deep (Figure 3). Alternatively, the louvers can be cut and removed from below the screen for two (2) to three (3) inches from the edge of the screen. The amount of louvers removed or bent depends on the situation and amount of water. 4. Install the two corners pieces with one (1) inch overlap. A screw in the back flange of the lower piece may be necessary to support (Figure 2) the corner. A screw should be placed in the lip of the guard approximately one (1) inch from the inside corner to fasten the corner to the gutter (Figure 4). Important Note: In high flow areas, a diverter may be necessary to prevent overflows. It must be installed on top of the surface behind the front lip. Whenever possible, any downspout from an upper roof must be directly tied into a lower gutter. If this is not possible, a (Figure 3) diverter/deflector may be necessary. (Figure 4)

CARE AND MAINENANCE Standard Gutter Guard is one of the most effective gutter guards on the market. Like most cases, normal debris will not easily blow off the gutter guard in the next gentle breeze. Depending on the surrounding proximity of the foliage around the structure, regular maintenance to ensure optimal function is required. The maintenance includes, but may not be limited to, blowing, hosing, or brushing off the gutter guards. If debris can collect on your roof, it can collect on the gutter guards. If debris builds up to a degree that water is not able to reach the gutter, it will greatly impede the effectiveness of the system. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Warranty Registration Card Name:________________________________________________________________ Address:______________________________________________________________ City:________________________________ State:__________ Zip:_______________ Email Address:___________________________ Phone:________________________ PRODUCT: Standard Gutter Guard Quantity Installed (ft):_______________ Please mail completed warranty card to Rain Gutter Pros LLC PO Box 905 Puyallup, WA 98371
