Ardmore Parks and Recreation is excited to host the 4th Annual Ardmore Senior Games. The Ardmore Senior Games is an opportunity for adults over the age of 50 to compete in a variety of events. August 26th—Golf at Lakeview Golf Course September 18th– Pickleball Tournament at Regional Park TBA– Horseshoes/Cornhole TBA– Bowling www.okseniorgames.com Pickleball League Funny name, addictive game! Pickleball is a fun and competitive sport that is a mash up of tennis, ping pong, wiffle ball, and badminton. The rules and style of the game are similar to tennis. We will offer a beginner, intermediate, and advanced level. Participants will play two different matches a night—best 2 out of 3. The league will be 4 weeks with a double elimination tournament to follow. Doubles or mixed doubles. NEW Ages: 14 years and up Time: Wednesdays nights Cost: $25 per person Location: Regional Park Pickleball Courts Registration: Now—September 1st (Online or in person) Fall Softball Enjoy the cool Fall nights and join our Fall Softball League! Our Adult Fall Softball League includes Co-Ed played on Tuesday nights and Men’s played on Thursday nights. It features a 10 game guarantee league with a double elimination tournament to conclude. 4-Player Co-Ed Volleyball Grab some friends and join us on Monday nights starting this Fall for our 4-Player Volleyball League. Sign up as teams– rosters of 6-12 people. Ages: 14 years and up Time: Monday nights 6:00p-9:00p Cost: $100 per team Location: Heritage Hall Registration: September 1st-September 30th (Online or in person) Games Begin: October 4th Putt Putt League Check out The Clubhouse and join the Putt Putt League! The league includes 2 rounds of golf for 4 weeks with a tournament to conclude the season. Great way to have fun with friends, make new friends, and enjoy the new family entertainment center! Glass Ornament Workshop Come make a unique glass ornament at our holiday glass ornament class. You will create your masterpiece by cutting, shaping, and stacking different colored glass. The class will be approximately 2 hours and will be located at Glass Worx! Time: Tuesday, November 16th 6:00p Cost: $45 per person (only 10 spots!) NEW Location: Glass Worx Chigger Chase Come chill with the Chigger at the 25th Annual Chigger Chase run at Ardmore Regional Park! Chigger Chase was voted Chickasaw Country’s Best Run! Run through the Festival of Lights to kick off the Christmas season with your family and friends. Children will chase the Chigger in the 1/4 and 1/2 mile fun runs. If you think you can catch the Speedy Chigger, you should do the 5K run! You also have the option of a 1 mile fun run or walk. Early registration deadline is October 31st! Ardmore’s joyful 1.5 mile drive-thru Festival of Lights display located in Regional Park opens Saturday, November 20th following the Chigger Chase and closes Thursday, December 30th. With over 160 displays, the Festival of Lights is one of the largest holiday light displays in Southern Oklahoma. Crank up the Christmas tunes and visit our sparkling winter wonderland! Time: Sunday-Thursday 6:00p-10:00p Friday– Saturday 6:00p-11:00p Donations accepted at the end of the Festival of Lights. Santa’s Mailbox Tossin’ 4 Tots and Veterans On Friday, November 19th a special Get into the Christmas spirit and toss a mailbox will appear at Central Park & cornhole bag in our Toys 4 Tots/Santa for Broadlawn Park! Children can mail their Veterans Cornhole Tournament! Help bring letters straight to the North Pole to Santa’s joy to children and veterans while having Workshop! Jolly Trolley Climb aboard our private Jolly Trolley and step into the world of your favorite Christmas stories! The night begins with hot chocolate and cookies around Central Park’s Christmas Tree as we patiently await the magical ride. Once aboard the Jolly Trolley, we will whisk away to the Festival of Lights and enter the Winter Wonderland of over 160 displays of twinkling lights with story-telling along the way. The Jolly Trolley will return to Central Park. Be sure to purchase tickets in advance, they won’t last long! You may purchase tickets online or in person at the Ardmore Parks and Recreation office. *CDC guidelines must be followed. Ardmore’s Regional Dog Park provides a safe environment for pet owners to unleash their dogs to let them exercise and socialize freely without disrupting the activities of others. The park has a small dog side and a large dog side. The park includes water fountains for dogs and owners, doggie waste station, agility toys, and shade for dogs and owner. We cannot always be there so please helps us keep a watch on the dog park. Thank you all for your input! (Located near the lake on the north end of the park.) The Ardmore Sk8 Park, located on the east side of Regional Park, is one of the three largest skate parks in Oklahoma. The Ardmore Sk8 Park covers 16,000 square feet. Regional Park Disc Golf Course One of our newest amenities in Regional Park is our 18-hole disc golf course. This beautiful course is located along our north trails. The course offers scenic views all players will love. The lake and trees make it a fun but challenging course. Fun for the whole family! Check it out! Clearview and Rosehill Cemeteries The Cemetery Division of the Parks and Recreation Department maintains the grounds, coordinates burials, and openings and closings of graves.
