Adult Career & Community Development (ACCD) I. Canadian Valley Technology Center A. School Philosophy Canadian Valley Technology Center strives to provide the learning environment and instruction students need to develop the skills, attitudes, and knowledge necessary for successful integration into the world of work. II. School Policy & Procedures A. Attendance Policy 1. Students are expected to be in class on time every day. Attendance is especially important and becomes a part of the permanent school record. Prospective employers often evaluate attendance records. Your attendance and active participation in class are integral components of not only your educational experience but also that of your classmates. Because of this, it is critical that you attend all classes and labs. 2. Our goal is to prepare each student for a career as a Basic or Advanced EMT; attendance is crucial in this field. Your attendance record here reflects on how well you will perform once you are on the job. Once this schedule is determined, you are expected to follow it and arrive in class on the dates and time scheduled. You are also to check in and out with your instructor when you enter class and leave class so your teacher can record your attendance accurately. 3. A student who accumulates more than eight (8) absences in a semester may not be eligible to receive credit for that class and the grade will show “I” (Incomplete) due to attendance. You may also be dropped from the program. Ask your instructor or ACCD Coordinator for more information. 4. Students must call the instructor in the event of an absence from class. You may call (405) 222-7565 or (405) 222-7525 and leave a message via voicemail. In addition, your instructor may give you their cell phone number in order for you to contact them directly.
