6 Special Projects in 2018 7 National Museum of Ireland PROJECTS Ardagh 150 Recording 1916 SPECIAL In 1868, labourers digging for 2016 was a remarkable year of potatoes in rural Limerick uncovered centenaries, and one we want a remarkable hoard of treasure. This year, we’re expanding THE NEW and revamping our much-loved Discovery Zone to make it bigger and better than ever. We are currently collaborating with AP+E Architects on the design of the new Wonder Cabinet. Several hundred years ago, Wonder Cabinets – also ZONE! known as Cabinets of Curiosities – were small collections of remarkable objects, used to explain and tell stories about the natural world.
